Re: Report GCA Site issues here
Well I broke my year and a half long GC.com streak yesterday due to work and rain. But that was only because I knew Blossom had left me a Gnome and a Frog in my front yard. Overall streak still good

Geo-Streak Update
Thanks for the update. That's an incredible achievement. My overall is also still intact after the US trip . . . plus my GCA only of course . . .Zalgariath wrote:Well I broke my year and a half long GC.com streak yesterday due to work and rain. Re: Report GCA Site issues here
I was just looking at the FTF graph and noticed that 'C@H' doesn't appear on the graph at present. This has happened before. The name doesn't appear and then appears again a few days later. It may be happening on other names but I notice his name when it goes as it generally appears near mine in the graph.
Is there something wrong or is it just a quirk in the system that he dissappears at odd times.

Re: Report GCA Site issues here
It's a quirk. By the way, it's not specifically C@H. Today it was C@H and insane.cache.posse
To speed up some statistical queries we build a table each day containing (amongst other things) the cacher, their home state (or what state they have the most finds in), their home country (ditto).
The process to build that table tables only takes a few minutes and runs at 00:45 each day. If someone runs a graph at the same time the table is being built, but before it's complete (and we're talking a few minutes) then sometimes people aren't yet on the list. So when the graph is generated it doesn't know about some cachers.
The Australia FTF graph ran at:
all_AU__0110_cachers_by_first_to_find.png 2012-Jun-13 00:45:09
i.e. right in the middle of the table being built.
It's a quirk, but one that provides a performance benefit, so I think we have to live with it.

Re: Report GCA Site issues here
Thanks for the explanation. I meant to ask last time it happened but went onto other things and forgot about it.
Re: Report GCA Site issues here
Is the GCA site very slow at the moment? I can get so far then it just hangs eg. drilled down to my hides then selected one but nothing happens, just a circle going round & round waiting for a response. I then click on the GCA icon to get here & note the box where new caches appear comes up with is error:

Yes. I literally just kicked it in the nuts. It should be back to normal.
Re: Report GCA Site issues here
I was going to say the hampster was having a brief rest as I went back to my hides & all was well, thanks.

Re: Report GCA Site issues here
I've just noticed a button I don't think I've ever used, but unfortunately will never actually be able to use.
The GCA google maps allow selection of OSMtah (aka osmarender) - this service is no longer, and will forever provide a blank grey map. You may want to remove this option.
Probably not a priority, if I'm the only person to notice in the few months it's been gone.
Thanks!
