Re: Report GCA Site issues here
Yeah, sorry about that.
I was getting alerts all thru the day but wasn't in a position to do anything about it.

Re: Report GCA Site issues here
I Just tried to log a cache with an image.
SQL Error: Error in insert: INSERT into gca_gallery (log,cache,imagename,cacher,caption,description,lat,lon,moment,site,visibility) VALUES (12744433,'ga7544','','64112744433.jpg','Team MavEtJu','A dutchman half powered on.','',-33.878467,151.2,NOW(),'geocaching.com.au','public');

Re: Report GCA Site issues here
Not an issue, but more of a suggestion/request/explanation of why you have chosen to do it the way it is.
On the home page when I click on my state, I would prefer it to go to the list view of the caches rather than the map view. Currently I just edit the URL by removing the ".gmap" from the end. I use this to see new caches, as well as download the list in a .zip to update my GPS.
If I want to see a map I click on the map on the Search box underneath the Australia map to show my local area, rather than showing the entire state.

It would also be mega-cool if it used the coordinates you clicked on instead of the middle of the state.Rogue wrote:On the home page when I click on my state, I would prefer it to go to the list view of the caches rather than the map view.

Re: Report GCA Site issues here
This is simple and already available unless I am misunderstanding.
You have a whole pile of things you can click on on the front page.
Click on the MAP and you get taken to the caches for that state.
Under the map there is "Search for a Geocache (Home or Current Location)", a local map showing your home or location co-ordinates depending on what you have set and a search box with co-ordinates in it. Click on the map and you get taken to a map at those co-ordinates. Click on the search and you get the closest caches to that location.
Do you see the section marked "Search for a Geocache (Home or Current Location)"?

Re: Report GCA Site issues here
Thanks for the detailed information. Yes, I have no problem finding a list or map of caches close to me.
I just want to get to http://geocaching.com.au/caches/available/gca/au/wa - clicking on the WA state on the map of Australia previously used to take me there. I find that looking at http://geocaching.com.au/caches/availab ... au/wa.gmap isn't really that helpful, as it's a very big state. I understand this may be more helpful in other states.
As I said, it's not an issue, I'll continue to edit the URL to remove the .gmap. I appreciate everything you guys do on the website and the continual improvements and new features

Re: Report GCA Site issues here
Yes, this was changed some months ago because (conversely) people expected to click on a map and see a map rather than click on a map and see a list.
So what we've done is you click on the map and it takes you to the map.
Click on the map for your home and it takes you to your home on the map.
Click on the "Search Now" and it takes you to your closest as a list.
It's a challenge because some people want one and some people want exactly the opposite.
Let me look and what we may be able to do is create a list of states, then if you click the list you get a list, if you click the map, you get a map.

Re: Report GCA Site issues here
There seems to be an issue with the member list.
The default order seems to be -sorted by join date, and there are 202 pages and 10,063 members according to the summary.
When you look at the last page, page 202, you see this...
===============================================
===============================================
However, there are many more members than 10.063, and nobody seems to have joined since 29th June 2009.
This does not look to be right.

Re: Report GCA Site issues here
When you sort by descending Jopin Date, you get the same numbers of members, but nobody seems to have joined before a date in 2013.
A minor issue, but you might want to fix it.

The forum is ootb so I'm not going to hack a fix. It's only a count which doesn't serve any meaningful purpose anyway.

Re: Report GCA Site issues here
Good morning hard working faeries.
GA6594 is not showing as archived despite an archived log dated 7Apr15.
I import all GCA's into my GSAK database along with the caches from "that other mob". GA6594 keeps showing as active both in GSAK and on GCA (no red line through the cache name etc). I know I can mark it as archived in gsak but that wont fix the problem on the web site.
