I noticed that while I was out frogging, and wanting to check logs on a couple in case they had been grabbed since I left home. By the time I got home to log the 7 I had found and 7 I had moved it was all working.

Frog in Frog Out confused Zalgariath as every frog he found on that trail wasn't the one he was expecting \:D/

There is something messed up with the Public Tags. Looks like they have been spammed.

Thanks for the report, I'm just fixing that little problem up right now!

Recently I noticed that on the trig pages that some (i've only checked a couple) report the height incorrectly.
As an example: Mount Wellington (TP0540) is reported to be 1258m high but we all know it is 1274m.
The other is Mount King William (TP3472) reports as 1278m when it is 1324m.
As we cant edit that data, can the faeries fix it up or will we not bother?
:?

I think they are just planning for sea level rises?

If it's using the publicly available SRTM data then it has a 90 metre horizontal resolution so can miss the top of things. Try going to those spots on Google Earth and see what it tells you the height is.

We use the same data as Google Earth (we get it from the Google Maps API), so there's nothing better we can do.

Duplicate Watchlist Update emails

Post by flower1 » 12 January 12 9:26 pm

I have http://geocaching.com.au/cache/ga0157 Eye Spy on my watch list and sometimes receive watchlist update emails more than once. When this happens I usually receive the same email twice at 5 minute intervals. It happened again today but I then received the email a third time, 15 minutes after the second one - see screen dump, duplicates are marked with red dots:

Thanks

Noted.

I'll add it to my watchlist and see what happens!

Thanks CraigRat - don't you just love intermittent probs? It may have nothing to do with Eye Spy, it happens to be the only listing I'm currently watching.

Is an Update Required fo the GCA Rewards Program?

A couple of days ago I received this email:
Congratulations you have reached 2000 finds at Geocaching Australia.
This entitles you to receive a special Geocaching Australia 1000 finds pathtag.
The Geocaching Australia 1000 finds pathtag is only rewarded to geocachers who reach their first 1000 finds at Geocaching Australia. The pathtags cannot be purchased and as they are so rarely rewarded they are unlikley to be made available as trades or left in geocaches.

Geocaching Australia would like to congratulate you and also thank you for finding 1000 Geocaching Australia caches and contributing to the ongoing success of Geocaching Australia.
The auto-generated script doesn't seem to cater for the Locationless Addicts like me. Can it be tweaked a little (before I reach the 3000 milestone perhaps). \:D/

Sadly my Geocaching Australia pathtags for 1200 finds, 1300 finds, 500 finds, and the first "1000 finds" were all posted while I was on a Climatic Refugee trip, would have been re-directed to my daughter's address, and didn't make it home to me.
