Hmmmm... after asking everyone to call me stupid, I'm asked if I'm running any personal firewall software.... I'm feeling confused... I thought it was stupid if you DIDN'T have a firewall running...

So... um... yes... I am.... ZoneAlarm is keeping me safe from crackers and other assorted fireworks, and... by the sounds of it... maybe... GCA(+PLUS (beta edition))!!! :D

Nope, just a question to determine what could be the issue. I'm not making judgments

I've been getting this message when trying to log in to the Beta site: "Sorry, that username/password isn't on file OR your account has not been activated yet."
Deleted cookies and re-opened firefox but still no-go.
Firefox and XP.

Could I try a new dummy account?

OK, I've tried again (XP, using Chrome, Flock (Firefox-based), and IE (all still with Firewall on)).

Still getting:

Sorry, that username/password isn't on file OR your account has not been activated yet.

Would you like me to turn off the firewall and try again?

Still has an existing typo when editing a zone:
Updating zone Details:
Update successfull

Can't find anything else at the moment! That's a plus! :)

edit: although now I can't log back in either! I was just using my existing cookie but didn't select 'remember me'

Just switched the browser to 'private' browsing (which ignores any existing cached browser data, among other things) and I was able to sign in no problem.

AKA Porn mode.
Firefox, Chrome, Opera and IE8 all have a Privacy mode that ignores cookies and destroys any info that is grabbed during that session. Stops ppl who use the same PC seeing what you've been browsing as it doesn't keep histroy, cookies etc.... DOES NOT stop your employers seeing your traffic though, it is not encryption or anything.

Anyhow, I had users disabled in the forums and it appears to have locked you all out of the site. Should work now.

Well spotted, that needs fixing!

Thanks
This is a known problem (well I knew about it).

As forums.geocaching.com.au still points to the existing forums we didn't want to hack it for the "test" phase. This will be ready when we go live.
