Unwanted 'Spam' Email from GCA

If you got an email recently about activating a user 'CroogRat' then I must apologise.
As part of testing the new server, it appears ALL users were given Administrator rights, and consequently when a new user was added to test, EVERYONE got sent an email.
My humblest apologies to all, it shouldn't happen again!

No Worries, except for the thought- what are all those people doing up at such a stupid hour of the night, including me.
Cheers

No worries. At least you weren't offering great deals on Viagra or nasal delivery technology.

That's a relief! I was worried someone was mean and evil enough to promote me and not say anything!

It all makes sence now. We were about to send an email back enquiring just what it was about, but this clears it all up.

For the love of the Flying Spaghetti Monster, no more emails !!!
I saw the activation email last night, and knew if I waited overnight then something explanatory would turn up on the forums. However I never expected the name of the "noodly-one" to be invoked!
Actually, I am just relieved it wasn't some "dirty, rotten spammer"
that had skimmed our email addresses!
After a highly "flesh-coloured" posting I saw on here late one night (before it was rapidly removed), it occurred to me for the first time how much externally-generated strife the mods must have to deal with. Thanks to all of the moderators for their hard work in keeping the GCA forums a nice place to play.

I was wondering why I'd been given moderator privileges, then browsed to garmin.geocaching.com.au where I saw the word 'beta'.

Thanks for the explanation! Trusting soul that I am, I marked the email spam despite the familiar name and deleted it without opening it.
