Geocaching.com.au being blocked by ACMA

Post by RobWinmar » 01 April 09 12:34 am

Has anyone else got this message when trying to open www.geocaching.com.au? Is it Stephen Conroy's policy at work? It's bizarre:

This Website has been blocked by ACMA
Why has this website been blocked and removed?
This website 'Geocaching Australia' at the internet address of http://geocaching.com.au has been blocked by the Australian Communications and Media Authority.
This is due to: 'Inappropriate content (Nudity) without Age Verification Controls' under Schedule 5 and Schedule 7 of the Broadcasting Services Act 1992, specifically the following urls:
http://geocaching.com.au/cache/ga0337 entitled 'Nude Up for a Smiley by Cached'
This block does not currently extend to the following websites in the geocaching.com.au domain:
http://forum.geocaching.com.au
http://wiki.geocaching.com.au
ACMA is currently in discussion with the administrators of Geocaching Australia and their legal representatives.
"Look, mummy, there's an aeroplane up in the sky!"
Goodbye Blue Skies.

Cached's fault for hosting porn.

Could be the date too.

It looks ok now, though I had that message a few minutes ago. Interestingly, the displayed url appeared to be from the GA website

Minister Stephen Conroy wrote:"I don't want to block political content, (I've) never said we were going to block political content.''
