spelling-check, or do you check it with magic?
Not everyone has such higher education as some, anyway who gives a toss :?: :?: Pesky still has a voice in the caching community :!:

Your level of confidence is guaranteed. If the current senate say NO the deal is dead, instantly.

Please excuse my ignorance, geocaching does not occupy the attention it once did from us.

Did the sponsorship thing take off? or is it still in the pipeline?
Thanks in advance for keeping us up-to-date.

As one of the Senators, I can say nothing has happened so far. The decision was to seek more information from the sponsor, the information coming back wasn't as detailed as we would like and seemed somewhat different from the original proposal (being filtered via a marketing company).

As sufficient funds and donations had been received to start progressing along our own path that happened. As far as I know those in contact with the potential sponsor are still talking with them at least occasionally, I haven't seen anything to indicate otherwise.

My take is that if it happens it happens, and the community can be more secure in what it does apart from just running the servers. If it doesn't we will continue to be self sufficient.

http://garmin.geocaching.com.au

Has this URL got anything to do with this thread?

The site, yes, the name no.

We are moving tomorrow night to a new machine, but the subdomain (garmin) was a choice and not the name of a sponsor.

Obviously, "garmin" was chosen for the probably buggy test machine and, as soon as it's all working flawlessly, it'll be renamed to "magellan.geocaching.com.au"!

(I actually use a Garmin, but the opportunity was too tempting!)

Ok. Was just wondering because this thread seemed to have come to an inconclusive end. :?

Now its all over, is there any harm in revealing who the potential sponsor was?

I think that we can let that cat out of the bag.

The sponsor was going to be ...

You are so close its' not funny.
I believe there is a cacher who has a name that includes the name of the sponsor, but they are not affiliated with them.

Oh, 'cmon, take a look at some cachers, see whether there is one with a name that might be related to the image. Let's make a game of it. If you guess right I WILL tell.
