Not all caches download in GPX
Not all caches download in GPX
I may be missing something here, but i went to download all the WA caches but not all came thru when opened in both Mapsource and EasyGPS.
I selected "view all" and then "save as GPX", but only a handful of the caches listed were there.
Is there a problem with the download or is it only downloading the actual GCA listed caches and not those on Groundspeak??

Hi willhumpa,
If you wish to download caches from GC.com in GPX file you need to be a premium member of GC before you can get info in GPX format from their site.
I haven't tried downloading WA caches but if you are trying to do so here at Geocaching Australia (as it appears) yes you only get GCA caches in the GPX .Is there a problem with the download or is it only downloading the actual GCA listed caches and not those on Groundspeak??

We are not allowed to distribute Groundspeak geocaches for legal reasons.willhumpa wrote:Is there a problem with the download or is it only downloading the actual GCA listed caches and not those on Groundspeak??
You will need a paid membership on their site to get caches in GPX form.

Since you're a premium GC member you can grab all of the GC caches in pocket queries.
I use three to get all the WA caches, one for pre-2005, one for 2005-2006, and one for 2007 onwards, which gets all of them.
Then you just need to put these into GSAK along with the GCA file and sort them however you prefer.

There's a handy little doover that will help you split your Pocket Queries by hidden date to maximise your PQ's.

I went off and found that, but it's almost overcomplicated for the relatively cache-sparse West!caughtatwork wrote:There's a handy little doover that will help you split your Pocket Queries by hidden date to maximise your PQ's.

Until we get to over 2,000 caches, where you have to start being careful with your PQs to get the whole State in one day, we can afford to have <500 caches in each PQ.

<P>CAW you never cease to amaze. I had been running my PQ's by centre point. I have just archives all my old PQ's and changed to this list. Very well done!caughtatwork wrote:There's a handy little doover that will help you split your Pocket Queries by hidden date to maximise your PQ's.
