Looking at the Hidden Ranges for NSW, both the 500 and 1000 per PQ indicate that caching started in NSW on 4 April 1984!
I guess it doesn't make any difference unless there were caches listed prior to 18 May 2000 - now tell me that it can't be otherwise Lane Cove gets to be downgraded as Australia's first

The anomaly with the dates probably comes from a well-liked cache by asbestiform (
Gunya Ridge Library - 1984). It's because the CO can change the date a cache is hidden and, in this case, it relates to the subject of the cache.
