Report GCA Site issues here [closed]
Re: Report GCA Site issues here
Obviously I am doing something wrong, but I don't seem to be able to put a picture into a new listing (GA3158 on draft), I have done it in previous listing but now the insert/edit image in the edit page just brings an empty window that does nothing at all except fade out the page!
Help!

You're inserting forum tags, not html tags.
It's been fixed for you.

Re: Report GCA Site issues here
don't know whether its a bug but it bugs me a bit.
This is after I bring up the latest logs for say QLD.
You get down to the bottom and press next page. If you click on a cache from the log then try and return to the logs it puts you back to page 1. Hope this amkes sense

Re: Report GCA Site issues here
Yes it makes sense, and yes it does.
It's not a bug per se, but it's irritating.
I'm not quite sure how to address it, but I will look at it.
In the short term, when you click on a cache on the Latest Logs page, it will open a new tab with the cache shown. That will preserve the list of logs as all you need to do is close that tab.
I'll look into a longer term fix, but jquery is not my expert area, so bear with me for a while.

Re: Report GCA Site issues here
I'm not sure whether this is a problem with the feed or something else...
I just noticed that GC2V4P2 doesn't have my log in GCA - A first I just though it is a new cache and it has had a lot of finders recently. Then I went to do the importing to GCA thing and noticed its only had three finders and all the logs are still on the page...
Is this expecting it to soon or is there something wrong?

On the GCA page where there's the list of top finders for the month (all caches) top of the list is "Snobird and Mountain Goat" but they appear to be USA cachers. I didn't go through all their finds but they seem to be in Nevada.
This list is normally Australia-NZ based cachers isn't it?

Wow! It seems very weird then that so many Aussie cachers are in the Top 10 in the world so often???caughtatwork wrote:Nope.

Re: Report GCA Site issues here
OK, let me be clear.
There is no country restriction on the front page. If it happens to be an international caches whose logs have made it to GCA, then they head the leaderboard. It's not a worldwide leaderboard as we don't get logs worldwide.

Ah! So since the Route 66 powertrail is on GCA at the moment, anyone who logs the odd 800 finds along it will top the list It turns out to be Firesafe's fault

That makes sense.
Those Kiwis often appear on the list too! Must have plenty of caches over there although they do come over here occasionally for a run.

GCA Front Page Stats -- Many Thanks
Another interesting and useful explanation. I confess that I never fully understood all the various leaderboard listings on the front page and then when you click on the map of NSW. Am only pleased when my name appears! Keep up the good work!caughtatwork wrote:OK, let me be clear. There is no country restriction on the front page.
