Re: Report GCA Site issues here
Thanks for the notification.
As caches which are published now check against the zones database to ensure they've got permission if they're inside a restricted zone, this was causing the failure.
I have made a change which should allow you to publish.

If I click on the thumbnails in Black Bunny's post at the bottom of this page:
http://forum.geocaching.com.au/viewtopi ... &start=150
I get "Gallery Error. Bad image number."

Re: Report GCA Site issues here
Just happened to me when I turned on the computer and accessed the forum. Normally I am logged on automatically but this time I was not logged on. When I attempted to log on I got the "too many attempts" message and had to enter the hidden code.Yurt wrote:It may have been a one-off but I was already logged in when I opened a second browser tab for some reason and it asked me to log in (the forum not GCA). All my passwords are saved so I just clicked okay then I got a knockback saying that I'd had too many attempts at my password (1?) so it asked me to fill in the illegible letter and number combo (the spambot and human defeater). Did that and logged straight in.
A bit weird.

Odd... I just imported some logs from a GC GPX "My Finds" and received this error for the Earth Caches...
* Unknown cache type: 'EarthCache'
* Unknown cache type: 'EarthCache'

Re: Report GCA Site issues here
Thanks for the report.
It is unusual in that we have imported Earthcaches before.
It looks like Earthcache has been changed to EarthCache.
Anyway, I've made a change so this shouldn't happen again.

GC Import Failure -- Assistance Required
For the first time that I can remember, I've had a failure in manually importing a GC file, using the 'import' function.
The error message is:
Cache not imported (Invalid cache prefix): AA2NWVY
Cache not imported (Invalid cache prefix): AB2NWVY
The GC multi I was trying to import was GC2NWVY.
I checked inside the .gpx file and saw that the 'invalid cache prefixes' referred to waypoints. I edited these, but it still refused to import -- this time giving no error message at all.
Help!

Waypoints don't get imported, this is normal behaviour. The cache itself and /or the logs should have gone thru ok

GC Import Failure Update
Have tried the manual import process ten times now, each time with a newly imported .gpx file and always get exactly the same error message.CraigRat wrote:Waypoints don't get imported, this is normal behaviour. The cache itself and /or the logs should have gone thru ok
(I do imports manually every day and have never had a problem like this. Occasionally there's a flurry of verbiage protesting about something or another, but the file is nonetheless successfully imported into GCA.)
The sinful prefixes in question are embedded in the .gpx file as waypoints. That's why I mentioned them. As you say, it shouldn't make any difference.
I edited the .gpx file several times, once renaming the errant waypoints and once deleting them, to no avail.
The only change was that there was no error message. However, the file still wasn't imported in my GCA 'finds' list.
Thanks for anything you can do . . .

Re: Report GCA Site issues here
"additional waypoints" are NOT added to the database as they are not caches.
http://geocaching.com.au/cache/GC2NWVY
The FIRST time you imported the GPX file your log WAS imported.
Subsequent times the SAME log is not imported (obviously).
Your log is there, happy as Larry.

Many thanks for the lightning fast response! And my apologies for the kafuffle.caughtatwork wrote:"additional waypoints" are NOT added to the database as they are not caches.

Re: GC Import Failure -- Geocacher Brain Failure
I now see that it was the same import error pattern that I mentioned earlier -- that is, error message reported, but .gpx imported successfully anyway. Thanks again.pjmpjm wrote:Many thanks for the lightning fast response! And my apologies for the kafuffle.
