Newbie Question: Deleting *DRAFT* Caches
Newbie Question: Deleting *DRAFT* Caches
HI,
New to geocaching and the GCA Website. I am struggling with the design and layers of menus, not very intuitive for a new user.
I cannot easily find a way to delete a DRAFT cache. I created a draft and now want to delete it?
Assistance appreciated.

You can't actually delete draft caches, just leave it in draft and it'll be good.

Use it next time you want to hide a cache.
It's the same concept that applies to GC.com
i.e. You get assigned a number when you create a listing and it's yours for ever and ever and ever.

Actually I was just wondering this myself......Like GC, can you create a cache and leave it in limbo while you work out the particulars before publishing it?

Yep. It stays in DRAFT mode, only visible to yourself, until you log a published log against it.

Re: Newbie Question: Deleting *DRAFT* Caches
I was trying to reuse a "Draft" one I created last year, as I finally was going to publish my first GCA (albeit a virtual to replace an interstate cache of mine that is now emtombed in concrete), but I haven't been able to edit the description. I've changed the name and location, but everytime I change the description and hit "Save", it reverts to the old one

Hmmm, the usual dealie, it works for me
http://geocaching.com.au/cache/ga1369 is the cache I think we're talking about.
What browser and version are you using?
That's the first place to start.

I think it was your typical office set up of version 7 Internet Explorer. Changing to a laptop running version 8 I don't have the problem now, and the cache is published.caughtatwork wrote:Hmmm, the usual dealie, it works for me

So glad I read this forum. Now I know what to do with an event cache that I have that was not allowed due to time constraints. Well at least I think I will be able to reuse it and redesign it if I have read these correctly. Thanks folks
