I'll fix it tomorrow, I've consumed a bit too much wine to safely hack code tonight
gca release changes - possible hiccups on the site

Bit hungover maybe?
I'm having a little problem that I wonder if is due to the changes. When I'm looking at a cache page on GC, then click the link to google maps to see where it is, I get this message
EO.Web Controls Client Side Debug Message:
An error occurred while applying the new output.
Error Message 'cc.length' is null or not an object.
You can turn off this message by setting EO.Web.Runtime.Debug Level to 0 (not recommended for debug build)
Can you help please?
Thanks for all the hard work

I woke up feeling quite well... surprisinglyjabes7 wrote:Bit hungover maybe?
Those maps have nothing to do with our site (if I go to GC and look at their maps I get the same error)jabes7 wrote:I'm having a little problem that I wonder if is due to the changes. When I'm looking at a cache page on GC...
Are you aware that we have no affiliation with the geocaching.com site?
I suggest you log that issue with their support line http://support.groundspeak.com/Support/?group=gsp
Thanks for your feedback!
Yes I am aware that the 2 sites are different, but I'm sort of a bit vague about where the line is between the two. I always go first to GCA because I like the way my page is set out there, and I like that I can search on the site. But then I go from the cache page that comes up to the GC page, and I admit to being a bit confused about who looks after what as I often go from one to the other. Those maps have nothing to do with our site (if I go to GC and look at their maps I get the same error)

So thanks for the feedback and I'll do as you suggest.
Just went to the US forums. Apparently they've fixed it but it hasn't filtered down to us yet. Thanks Guys.

Originally was just entering text in for a new post. Was not using Word at all, no cutting or pasting on the original post. I have seen the previous posts about using Word then cut paste into a post.CraigRat wrote:Swampy, were you cutting and pasting from something like Word?
It's a common thing for Word to insert nasty characters that will cause that problem.
I did cut and paste out of notepad and only when I removed the quotes would it work properly. The quotes were either side of the word Rigger and that was the cause. I even tried changing them to apostrophes but it b)rked at that too.

Its an old problem Swampy. Its in the bbs (forum) code, not the cache listing code. Normal apostrophes (by that I mean ones that are not copied/pasted from a Microsoft product) are ok. (" and ').
If you have a careful look at the apostrophes generated by Word you will see the look slightly different to those here. I discarded notepad long ago in favour of a real editor so I can't check that one, although I believe it uses a similar quote symbol.
If you are concerned with spell checking, Firefox will spell check as you type.
