Re: Sistema and glue
Hot glue is reasonably effective, but there's no substitute for mechanical fastening. What I'd do is drill a couple of small holes, cable-tie the angel in place, then fill the holes with hot glue. (You can get cheap hot glue guns at $2 shops if you don't already have one. They're wonderful for all m...

Re: The Big Bang Theory goes Geocaching!
Yes, it's a real bowling alley. From one of the many wikis: The map coordinate 34.1516,-118.0767 does point to a bowling alley in reality - Bowlmor Pasadena. [1] It is formerly named "300 Pasadena", the name that appeared at the gate of the bowling alley in the show, and the name that Google Maps la...

And one clue (that we got to see) used coordinates, so it met that part of the guidelines!

Re: Cache listings and HTML
Well, learning a few html tags probably wouldn't kill ya... However, you should be able to save your Word doc in html format (you used to be able to, but I haven't paid my Microsoft tax for some years, so I can't be sure) and just paste that into the description. Some tags will probably be stripped ...

Re: Oddball 'communities'
A new, basically manufactured, community is forming around the Google game Ingress (ingress.com) There are two factions in the game, and there's already derogatory slang for the "other" team, and some fairly interesting real-world interactions going on. You'd need to get involved to see who's active...

Re: GeoTours
I haven't looked too closely at these things, but it looks like you get a landing page and a bit of leeway on the commercial guideline. Otherwise, it's basically a bookmark list of caches in an area, be it a council or tourist spot or whatever. Monetising something that was sort of going on anyway, ...

Re: www.muggled.net
Generally, this is the sort of thing that socially maladapted losers do to gain some attention, any attention, from a world that usually ignores them. Sometimes, though, they get more attention than they can handle... I wouldn't be pulling this sort of retarded stunt in the southern US; they have lo...

Re: Android app tha t can do what a GPS Spot can do, any ideas?
I was looking for something like this last year, for similar reasons. Most of the options were aimed at short term updates (more of a "I'm in the city, come and find me if you are too" idea) rather than regular updates over a longer trip. I could use Atooma or other automation app to fire off a Twee...

Re: GCA Cache Loot
If you have the time, have a browse through somewhere like dx.com for cheap but tempting bits and pieces. For a dollar or two, you can find all sorts of gizmos and connectors and novelty items that aren't available in everyone's local Red Dot, and the postage is free. It can take a few weeks to arri...

Re: Anyone ever get sacked (or nearly) for geocaching?
I just remembered one caching-caused wrist slap many years ago. We were racing all over Sydney going through the 26 waypoints (suburbs A-Z) of "The Hunt for Pilates" on the way to a coveted FTF. This was before smartphones and even data plans, but I could use my mobile phone as a modem (57kbps) and ...

and don't forget to put Denmark on your bucket list..................... [-o< [-o< Seriously. Not only is it definitely worth the 5 hour drive from Perth to Denmark (aka Roymercsburg), it's probably worth the 5 hour flight to Perth to be within a 5 hour drive of these caches! Next time we're down t...

Re: Sharing an Information Sign for a Multicache
No technical problem, as these are all "Question to Answer" type waypoints, which don't get considered in cache saturation checks.
Do bear in mind that cachers have already been taken here and shown this information, though, and make sure that you're adding something new to experience.

I use Copilot (because I used it in Palm days and had a membership I could transfer) and there's ways of converting GPX to .trp that it can read. I'm confident that gpsbabel can do it, for example. These days, I only keep it as a backup for when I'm out of cellular data range so Google Maps stops wo...
