If your happy uploading maps using mapsend I can supply basic maps made from the publicly available 2.5M data. These show main roads, towns, main rivers. You can't do routing with them and they don't have layers. I can supply quite detailed maps of around Adelaide for uploading. Neither show things ...

Comparing maps in Garmin Legends..

Can someone post a photo of a Garmin Legend screen centered on say Mt. Lofty SA at 500m resolution.? (GC5466) Same again using the CD products would be nice. (I'm just trying to see how much detail comes with the standard Legend Maps as I've been making my own for the past year as my GPS is a USA.mo...

How about "WaldenRun" 2000+ finds, no GPS??
After doing 3 finds one evening the other week :o after the batteries died in the GPS, I dont think I could handle the "freak out factor" of doing this all that often. It's not natural...

I'd say Adelaide is the go. The traffic is quite light compared to the Eastern States. The roads run on a nice grid pattern and there is no big lumps of nothing in the way. :D North to South is about 80km these days and the city is about 20km wide at the widest. I've succeeded in 6 caches in 2 hours...

This has already been discussed on the RISKS newsgroup as nearly all were concerned by this technology. Things that spring to mind are: 1 Trusting it will always work without knowing how often GPS fails to work. Getting worried over the errors and then suffering from the 'boy who cried wolf ' syndro...

I most often use the GCxxxx as this is used for reporting finds. All my searches are prelisted using Geotoad these days. The other option I use is search by state as this gives me the latest caches in SA, from here I make a loc file for uploading into GPS. Once using the site I'd use the find neares...

Uni SA has had a group doing this for years. Overlay Quake with VR headset and GPS and you have Quake overlaid with the real world. Walk around real world, walk around VR Quake. Attack monster in quake..pedestrian goes goes down..oops.

..when you hide the kids Easter Eggs in a temporary multi..in a pine forest..whilst camping on that weekend..and the kids didn't know how to use a GPS at that stage. Did this to ours and friends kids, before we were really busy caching. Ended up being 3 hours of entertainment for the adult...

In the above suggestion I think you should have 1000 hits before being allowed to raise a family. If you can survive 1000 finds and attempted finds without killing each other you're probably pretty well suited.

It'll be handy for drug users though. After visiting the automatic dunny near the sk8 park on Nth. Tce. Adelaide (Webcam cache BTW) I am now much wiser as to what heroin looks like as the remains of Saturday nights hits were still in the modified soft drink tins on the floor. Quite a clever li...

After GCZZZZ?? (or GC9999)

OK, the numbers might come after the letters, I'm not sure, but we currently have a 4 alpha code for the cache waypoints. Out of interest, how is the naming convention going to go when we reach the last of the 4 alpha code names in the next 6 - 18 months? I notice the early caches were 3 digit. Are ...
