Re: You know you're a Geocacher when............................

tatty, Pls explain this word you use - "buy" ????? The owner of Ikea is one of the richest people in the world. Also, TattsLotto, PubKeno, ... there are many sources of small pencils. Being an atheist, I now hear I'm missing out on a source at churches. Is this happening in all churches, or only cer...

Re: You know you're a Geocacher when............................

You are attending your gf's daughter's wedding this weekend and are more excited about the fact that the wedding is taking place in an area near SA's oldest metropolitan cache. GF: "We'll have to give [other daughter] a ride back to her car Sunday morning and she may not want to stop off at the cach...

Re: Geosphere (iOS) update - now available

I bought Geosphere and the official app as soon as I got my new iPhone - a few months ago - and I hardly ever use Geocaching. Geosphere is the bee's knees in my opinion. I have been going on Groundspeak forums spruiking Geosphere to ppl complaining about the official app - wonder how long before I'm...

Re: GCA gpx files into Geocaching Live on Nokia

G'day Pigbag,

I load the GCA .gpx file into GSAK, then export out of that, because that formats it so I can load it into Geocaching Live.

Good luck,
Graeme.

Re: Have you cached on Christmas Day?

Xmas Day now x-ed off the list. Not only was it my first Xmas Day caching - I also achieved my 700th GC.com find, and broke my day's record for finds in a day. The first cache for the day was called "Do they know it's Christmas Hill", My 700th cache was a 4 stage multi in Willunga, My last for the d...

Re: Should I abandon my Hides?

It's a bit like the "chicken and the egg" - not many people look for GCA caches, beacuse they are few and far between, mainly. But I prefer to "Not count your chickens before the cows come home to roost". I always load GCA caches into "Geocaching with Geosphere" on my iPhone and will go look for one...

Re: movable cache location

I'm with you, mtrax. I'm enjoying picking up gnomes and moving them on, but it frustrates the "gnome-juice" outa me when I try to go for one and it's moved on. Can someone (C @ W?) tell me if I would get lambasted if I set the coords to something like S0 0.000 E0 0.000, and/or if this will cause any...

Re: www.nearmap.com

Richary, I'm a valuer for the state govt here in SA. We were using NearMaps for work for a while. As you can imagine, it is brilliant having up-to-date aerial photography so we could check if a new house has been built yet etc. Then all-of-a-sudden, the owners of NearMaps decided that they wanted $1...

Re: Have you cached on Christmas Day?

Plans are full steram ahead for caching this Xmas Day. One cache I plan to find is GCVKK4 "Do they know it's Christmas Hill". In July I turned 50, and on my birthday I had my 500th GC find. That was planned and I had to slow my caching for a couple of weeks prior to the date, which was a bit annoyin...

Re: Potential NZ MEGA Event 2012 - is there sufficient interest?

I'm an ex-pat kiwi living in South Australia. Next Sept - Oct I'm visiting Wellington for RWC - staying with my sister in Upper Hutt, and hopefully doing a quick trip up to Rotorua inbetween rugby matches. I will be bringing my son & daughter, and my girlfriend. Therefore, my financial situation wil...
