Re: Bulk delete of found caches on a Dakota - any suggestions?
It is like the Origon, but you don't need to worry about the geocache_visit.txt file (this only matters if the cache exists in a GPX file and determines how it is shown on the screen). To remove the found caches you need to remove the GPX file the cache is in. I just use one GPX file with all the ca...

Re: Using the Garmin Dakota for geocaching and navigating in Oz
I have a Dakota 20 and use OSM and Shonkymaps depending on where I am. OSM maps are routable but do have some errors (you can help fix the errors if you find them), shonkymaps are not routable but generally have more detail in rural and remote areas. I then overlay the contours Australia contours ma...

Re: Happy Anniversary - The Offical Congratulations Thread
Happy Anniversary.
The best thing about caching is the people, I've never meet a cacher that wasn't friendly. (some with different views, but still friendly).

Re: New Program - GSAK (Geocaching Swiss Army Knife)
Or just copy them from the right hand side of the map (have the output set as CSV) and paste them directly into the "Arc/Polygon points" box in GSAK

Re: Seven Mile Beach, Tasmania
A lot of places now charge (especially service/gas stations) a percentage fee to use credit cards and it is often higher or only for Amex/Diners cards so you are best to just ask before deciding which one to use.

Re: The Long Way Round - TB race from South Africa to Australia
This has been quiet for a while, only 4 months to go. For "Photo at" challenges. If the photo was taken by the cacher retreiving the coin as part of the move to the next cache, should it be claimed agains the waypoint they took the cache from (as this is where the photo was taken) or the waypoint th...

Re: This could be an interesting caching challenge.
This would be great for National Park caches. It could be hiden outside the park but only opened at the spot inside the park you want people to get to.

Re: Cache sounds
Schrödinger's Cat (for those that dont know ..... including me) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EN-jCuV7BoU \:D/ So in the quantum world a cache is both there and missing. Hmmm 8-[ That would explain alot of DNF's and long searches where the cache turns up in a spot you know you have looked already.
