If you want it to last and can handle low pressure a copper tank is the go. Penguin ware also considered as thats my flavor of preference these days for 95% of the time. gpsbabel is the right tool then http://www.gpsbabel.org/htmldoc-development/fmt_garmin.html If you are using ubuntu or debian it is in the repositories, just do a sudo apt-get gpsbabel and bob's your uncle...

Thanks for the advice so far. To answer a few questions: Its a yellow etex No I don't have Ozi I do have GSAK 6.what ever the last one was. Track logs from Garmin --> file --> Ozi ??
I want to record a track log on my GPS and export it as a file then email it to someone else to put into Oziexplorer. I'v never downloaded tracklogs before. Can anyone give me a brief rundown on whats needed as far as file types etc.

If its a partition you want to copy gparted. What happens if you unplug both hard drives and boot a live OS from a CD. Does it run OK or still play up?
One of these would be the thing to try if you have no idea about these things.
