Re: Report Site Issues Here

It's been archived due to not being updated in our feeds for whatever reason (it's missing a few logs), usually fixes itself in a few days.
Unarchiving it should put it back on the list if you are the owner.

Re: GA vs Geocaching.com query

Thanks for your help. Back in the day there were no phone apps so maybe I’ve confused the actual site to the app which was completely different. It's the one and the same, GC really restricts what you can do for free with their app, while TECHNICALLY not pay for play, they restrict by limiting the ...

Re: What's new on Geocaching Australia

10 years ago the old server has all of 4gb and 4 processor cores. It struggled to to even the day-to-day things.

The server we run now has 128gb, and 32 processor cores.

Re: Finding Own Caches

I've logged my own movables before, because I didn't hide it.

I've logged my own locationless before.

These are a bit different than your regular hides (in my mind).

Our instance of MySQL/Mariah uses utf8 , however there is a utf8mb4 format that extends, however I don't know what the ramifications are if we change our encoding

Technical items are not senate issues. The senate has no say on how we code or configure the site.

Re: Report Site Issues Here

Given one possible outcome of yesterday's issue was that we might have had to permanently take the site down then I think losing a few DZ points is the least important issue of the day. Sorry if this offends, but if we'd lost the main board on the server or whatnot then we would have been seriously...

Site Outage 9/1/2019

Here's the lowdown on today's outage * reports early AM that site wasn't working. * Initial thoughts were a full Hard Drive * Remote diagnostics revealed our two SSDs used for our database were failed. Weird. * Reboot caused server to go fully offline * C@W attended site at 5:30pm and him and I work...

Re: GA app for android

Is there any app I'm unaware about, in progress or even possible that incorporates both GC and GCA caches for Android devices? YOu can load a GPX file form GCA in to c:geo, but you won't be able to log online through it. A request has been made for Geocaching Australia to be added to the list of se...

Re: Report Site Issues Here

Is there a problem with the daily update email not being sent or is it just me that's not receiving it? I've received it almost every day for a number of years. Haven't changed anything recently (site or mail server) yet haven't received the emails for a few days. Nothing changed, no issues as far ...
