Haunted Nuvifone

I was playing around with Oziexplorer on the Nuvifone this morning when I noticed this smear pattern on the screen. I did NOT set this up. Luckily I am not superstitious so I still plan on doing that cemetery cache with it tonight at midnight. What could possibly go wrong? http://www.flickr.com/phot...

Thankyou! I thought it was only me. GC iPhone app rules. I am not a big GC fan or an Apple fanboi but credit where credit is due. This credit extends to GCA as well because those guys know how to write code! Cant wait for their iPhone App.

Guess where the next Aussie Mega will be - Expires Thursday

Based on this "The event is an exciting logistical event and we have scoured the country and found the best location that will dazzle all geocachers." It must be in Newcastle! Newcastle being the only Australian city to be in Lonely Planets "Must Visit" List. http://www.news.com.au/travel/australia/...

Relax - we'll sort out food and may even manage to arrange coffee...??? it may be instant though? That way you can squeeze more undies and socks into your packs and so stay longer. <p> Instant...Nooooooo! Thinking about it I need a camping planner to organise my packing, 14 days include: 14kg of co...

Re: Pocketwifi

Isn't it possible to set up the iPhone as a wifi hotspot? I do this with my Nexus One (Android 2.2 introduced this as native, not requiring an add-on app) and it works very well, and I don't have another gadget to carry and keep charged! iPhone needs to be jailbroken and an app , MyWi needs to be p...

Pocketwifi

Just picked up a pocketwifi unit. So far very impressed. Have the Nuvifone and the iPhone both connected and speed is good.

Re: Potential NZ MEGA Event 2012 - is there sufficient interest?

A suggestion; How about a MEGA-Multi that has waypoints all around the South Island. Queenstown, Dunedin, Nelson, Te Anau, Hamner Springs, Arthurs Pass etc, etc. That should inspire a lap around the island. bshwckr That would be tricky as you would have 300+ vehicles all travelling around the count...

Re: Potential NZ MEGA Event 2012 - is there sufficient interest?

Needless to say, I do want to lock it in soon - just as soon as we're confident about numbers. "If you build it, they will come" Having spent a lot of time in NZ, I know you will have more than the Aussies to make up the numbers. I done the Tongariro Alpine Crossing walk last week and kept tripping...

Re: Android Geocaching Apps

Alpha version 0.1 of Oziexplorer is now out.

I have loaded it onto the Nuvifone with NSW topo maps and gone for a drive. Tracks well, very little lag on speed register but not a lot of function just yet. Good solid start though.

I'm in. I just need a little bit of notice to include it in a "work" trip. :^o
