Cheap and cheerful

I've been making use of the hospitality of Forestry Tasmania some nights. Tonight is one of them :D
Lovely bush campsite on a ridgetop to the east of Ross :)
It's a little bit misty up here, but the peace and quiet is nice 8)

Warmish

Well if nothing else, caching my way from Albury to Melbourne yesterday was interesting  Poking around rocks, looking for a cache, in the middle of paddocks in 46+ degree heat with a 60 or 70 km/h breeze kicking up the dust and knocking branches out of the gum trees gave me a real feeling of...

.........And don't forget the magic tickable box on the geocaching.com reporting a new cache page :D The one that says "Yes, this listing is active" If you 'untick' that box you can post a new cache listing, mess around with your cache page listing and edit it as much as you like until it looks righ...

If you know how to use Microsoft Word or Open Office Writer, then to create your colourful, hyperlink filled and web image filled cache pages on GC use Microsoft Frontpage or Open Office Writer/Web programs instead :) The programs work the same for producing those cachenote masterpieces but Frontpag...

Hot hot hot

Well I have just put up with a week of Briz-vegas' 30 degrees and 80+ percent humidity, as we do every year.
Gimme Adelwaide's 40+ and no humidity any day :D

I will now poke my tongue out at you all and head for the very civilised climates of the apple isle for the rest of summer :P

Velly strange

My money's on "you're doing something wrong" It won't be batteries. Either they have enough charge to run the GPS or they don't. Not meaning to be mean, but ..... are you using the unit outdoors !! Are you a member of Generation Y and prone to impatience ? When first switched on out ...

Nothing new here, move along.....

And this is different from what Telstra, Foxtel, the major banks and any other big company has been doing for years when you innocently punch in that magic 1300 helpline number into your phone or the www.help website into your computer ? Now you don't even need to live in India to join the ra...

Going around in circles

I've never had a problem with the electronic compass on my GPS76CS. It needed recalibrating if I moved a couple of hundred KM's, but that was to be expected. Once calibrated the compass would work OK for the rest of the day :D As for rechargable batteries, I gave up on them years ago. It just wasn't...
