We really enjoy reading caching adventures in logs, Especially for those hard to find caches - either because of difficulty or terrain. Super short logs ie Found TFTC TNLN To us means that the finder either didn't like the cache or had no experience during the cache finding process, good or bad - ju...

Just been looking at my unfound list,

Any Vic cachers want to place some terrain 5 caches out there
especially if difficulty rating is above 3 :D :D :D

I am desperately short of hard caches
:( :( :(

Anything involving a long walk /ski would be good

It would have been nice to see more than 1 Vic cacher in the top 30!!!!

Perhaps the spirit of co-operation and competition is sadly lacking in this state :( :( :(

I suppose a follow on question was - would you all play even if there were no prizes?
For this team, it's all about the journey, challenge and location, not any pursuit of a prize or statistic.

I also would like to thank the organisers of the comp. We have had alot of fun going for the more remote caches. I will always remember being threatened by a wild Brumby Stallion for 2 hrs in the middle of the night at Davies High Plains. He stomped, snorted and bellowed just outside my tent, I scar...

Like others , I use a mapping PDA in the vehicle, but once out of the vehicle, I use a basic Etrex Summit with an arrow that points the way. The Summit has a digital compass that will keep the arrow pointing at the cache even if you are stationary, a very useful feature if in difficult terrain. Any ...

Not for the firearm!
Have been a sailor for many years and owned a number of sail boats, from a 30 ft ocean racer to an 18 ft "A" class catamaran.
All had the name "Derringer"
My sailing took to many places and adventures - hence it seemed appropriate for caching
