Re: GPS basics
Were quite new ourselves. We started with an iPhone 3G and quickly found it wasn't very accurate. We upgraded to a Garmin Oregon 200. This is a great unit. We did find it annoying that it didn't have magnetic compas though. Experimented with shonkymaps and open street maps but eventually bought garm...

Re: Where would you like to see the next Mega Event held?
I am the only geocacher on the island. In 'normal' times the island population is around 800, swells to around 5000 during Xmas/January hols. Easter next year (2011) is an extra public day because it falls on Anzac Day as well. So is there somewhere on the island we could pull this off? N...

Re: Where would you like to see the next Mega Event held?
Well as far as I can tell then, Mr Coffee we either need to hold it again in Wagga Wagga (which I'd be more than happy to go to again) or pick up Wagga Wagga and move it to another location, SA and Vic are fairing well in the polls

Re: Where would you like to see the next Mega Event held?
Shrek4, what about a scout jamboree site like Wagga. Sure, exactly what I'm thinking, but where? The site at Wagga Wagga * Was close to regional services (large township) * Many active caches close by * Campsite had shower / toilet blocks of good quality and sufficient numbers * Plenty of space for...

Re: Where would you like to see the next Mega Event held?
Having a look around SA for some appropriate suggestions for campsites / locations. Goolwa to Victor Habour would be good, possibly Hindmarsh Island or Mt Gambier or Adelaide Hills (Harndorf?) Now before we could even consider any of these locations we need to consider accommodation options. They al...

Re: Constructive Feedback for the Next Mega Event
We attended as two families totalling two adults and two children, we had a ball and loved the whole weekend. While there were parts for the next committee to consider Kid friendly - I know it was our choice to bring a two year old and a six year old, but the games (esp the Megopoly) were far too mu...

Re: Where would you like to see the next Mega Event held?
Two cities I think could offer a great Mega Event
Ballarat, Victoria
Mt Gambier, South Australia
I'd be happy to be on any organising committee for the next Mega Event.
While I live in Adelaide I do believe I've skills (organisation and ICT) to contribute.
