Re: Concerns re 2012 Oz Mega.

Some interesting thoughts have been raised. At the end of the day the Committee has stuck up their hand to offer to put on an event which I'm sure will be fantastic. Could it have been better at a different location? Perhaps, but was there a Committee elsewhere who put their hand up? No (aside from ...

Re: Potential NZ MEGA Event 2012 - is there sufficient interest?

Given the new information 'OZ Mega 2012' I'd suggest the NZ committee go away and think about some dates. :-k Given the previous mention that the event would rely heavily on OZ numbers making the journey you don't want it to clash or be too close to the 2012 Mega. I'd be cautious about peoples budge...

I'll add my voice to Albury/Wodonga. I'll go as far to say the venue will be out of town in Bandiana. And the team from Canberra on the committee? MV. My two cents.
Ohh I hope so. Fingers crossed [-o<

Re: Australia's next Mega Event launch.

How exciting! We have fingers and toes crossed that we can make it and that the date doesn't clash with the impending arrival of the 4th Shrek to our family (due 16th June 2011) \:D/ . Great work committee, can't believe you've been able to plan SO much without so much as a hint to the GeoCaching Co...

Re: Potential NZ MEGA Event 2012 - is there sufficient interest?

TBH I'd rather 2012 Easter in OZ, makes it easier to travel and bring the camping kit.

Having said that, if things were provided / able to be hired we'd be there! :D 8-[

Re: iPhone Apps for geocaching

Yes it does allow PQ downloading, this is built into the app. There would be nothing stopping you using the PQ then going 'offline'. The app also caches maps. This means that you could view the maps whilst home on your wifi, this will cache the maps for later use offline.

Re: Garmin Chirp

Re: iPhone Apps for geocaching

Also tom those that said that the app is near useless in the bush due to no phone signal. The App can cache data into the phone ie google maps eta can be cached. That is if you view the maps for the area on your phone before you leave home or phone signal area they will be accessible once you are of...

Re: iPhone Apps for geocaching

Great that you've a new iPhone. I've had one for two+ years now and love it. I use the groundspeak app on mine and it does everything I require. I also use a dedicated GPSr so I don't rely on it. Being a new iPhone owner you probably haven't seen this website http://www.itunesonsale.com.au/ which te...

Re: How to load GPX on Oregon

Step 1 > download gpx file from the Geocaching.com - I am a premium member and download 1000 at a time. Step 2 > ensure that the file is not in .ZIP format, if so unzip it to a folder. In it you should have two file. Step 3 > plug in the oregon unit and navigate to the Garmin unit. I have two drive ...
