We are likely to press ahead with the provision of a new server using the donated funds and consider the proposal based on different needs to what we had a few months ago. Are you looking to encourage more donations at this point? Like possibly others, I was thinking of chucking in a few dollars so...

Thank you for that correction.

I agree that Telstra NextG is the best bet, especially if you want coverage out of the cities. Probably not the cheapest however. Your I-Phone would need to support 850 MHz WCDMA however, not just any 3G network. I-Phones sold by Telstra do of course, but not those sold by the other majors here. Don...

Sounds great. If we can make it we will be there (2 adults + 2 geokids). Not too sure about this camping thing though - we like a bit of luxury :-)

I wanted to get a low-credit limit credit card for the same purpose, but I found out as others obviously have, that the banks won't do it any more. Instead, I got a visa linked debit card and I just keep a very small amount of money in it, topping it up with an Internet transfer when ever needed. Mo...

I suggest they may have just wanted to see the result of the survey, without registering either yes or no. The "I don't know option" may be needed.

Re: Badminton Me again I'm afraid.
What about if the flying ability of the animal is somewhere between that of an eagle and a kiwi?
I'm thinking specifically of the Lyrebird. They are poor flyers and generally regarded as ground dwellers, but can indeed manage to get up to the tops of trees, ...

Re: The 1500m

I have hidden a cache that we walked over 2km to place, however, I have discovered a shorter route which is marginal - about 1400m.

So, the question is, does the shortest route have to be >= 1500m or is it sufficient that one uses the longer route to hide or find the cache?

Contours are great. They load just fine on a PC with Garmin MapSource, but I can't get them to display at the same time as CityNavigator etc. Is this possible? Maybe the transparency only works on the GPSr itself?

I couldn't work out why it asked for a phone number during installation. I just gave it some rubbish and it didn't seem to matter. Does anybody know the reason for this? I assumed it was just used as an ID, when you mark a cache as "Found" it keeps a record on their website, which can be linked to ...

I've just acquired an N95 8GB, and of course the first application I loaded was Geocache Navigator. Whilst I haven't used it in anger yet, it looks pretty cool so I'm anxious to try it out.
The linkage with GC is handy, will ensure that I don't forget anything, but you still appear to need to mak...

As has been said before, I don't think you can ignore the fact that many users would be unaware of the issue. I read the forum fairly regularly and this issue didn't register with me until yesterday. If you are away for a while, the number of new posts can be too many to read, and also, it's pretty ...

In regards to No 29 "Wrestling".

Does the "fellow geocacher" refer to perhaps a member of your own team, or is it meant to be someone from a different team etc.
