Had trouble trying to download a Locationless cache to the GPSr using the new "Send to GPS" feature. Communicator found and listed the GPSr but when trying to "Write" to the GPSr which I think meant to load the Locationless cache onto the GPSr, it came up with this message. Fatal Error: File Path: S...

Tomtom for NZ

I have heard that there is a Tomtom version released for New Zealand. With a trip to the North Island coming up soon, is there a version that will run on my PDA? I am running Tomtom version 6 of the OZ mapping on the PDA at the moment. Any ideas??

Don't panic!! Don't panic!! I found the driver disc. It was hidden with the package but in between the two pieces of cardboard. It has all come out in the wash so all is good in the world.

Software Required.

Bought a Garmin Legend (Blue) on Ebay and it works really well; very happy with it but it comes only with a serial port cable. I have bought a USB cable that connects to the Serial end and to the USB port of the PC but the PC won't talk to it. Does someone have the necessary software or know where I...

You are right above. I have just come back from NZ and when I loaded the caches on before going they didn't show up but once I got to NZ, there they were. I had the same problem with UK caches about 3 months ago when I went there so I knew about it for the NZ trip. You can bet they are on the GPSr b...

Garmin Legend - Blue

Just bought on Ebay a Garmin Etrex Legend, old blue; as a replacement for the Magellan 315 I had stolen. So that I don't have to read right thru the manual, a couple of questions. Can I buy a converter to plug into the end of the serial cable to plug into a USB slot to download stuff; waypoints etc;...

I would be happy with the colour coded digits as suggested and with the increments that Dak has suggested above.

Whatever we use it has to be simply understood so that you don't have to spend minutes trying to work out its value. Otherwise you get the "I don't think we need them at all" kind of thought about them as they are too complicated. If it is too difficult to work out an easy system using only 4/5 star...

I've just had a look at the Star System that has a link under the "General Chit-Chat" Section of the Forum and the Star System only shows the star combinations up to 1600 finds. What happens after that as many cachers are now exceeding 1600? What does 5000 look like and what does 4000 look like for ...

If you have an area just for new cachers, you might find that the experienced cachers might not go there to read that section and they are the cachers that the inexperienced are asking the questions of. In other words you want the inexperienced and the experienced to read the section. Leave it as it...
