Re: Aussie Pathtag Designer
Well done! It'll be great to have an Australian designer, and she'll understand the colors of the country, too. Our sky is a different blue to what the US designers do. I'll be looking for her name on the list.

Re: Boots vs KT26
Try the KT-26 and whatever else you find on sale and see what feels best on your feet. I've got a pair of Hi-tecs that I love and a pair of expensive Scarpa that I don't. The reluctant spouse always wore shoes from Colorado, but then I bought him a pair of sale-priced Merrell that he loves and he wo...

Re: So whats your main motivation for geocaching?
Caching makes me boldly go where I've never gone before.
Also, it get the reluctant spouse away from the tv. I have to promise him that he'll be home by the time the football comes on if Collingwood is playing and it's televised, though.

Re: 2009 Cyber Flash Mob Topic “Positive Caching Experience”
I like the fact that cachers place a cache in an area that they like, so they can share it with others.

Re: Blanket Apology
Thanks for reaching out and sharing your experience with depression, Bronze. The more it's talked about the less of a taboo it'll be and that can only be good for anyone who feels they're suffering alone. Keep getting well, and I hope your interest in caching (dunno about the VWs) is rekindled in ti...

I use Cacheberry http://cacheberry.com/ for cache info, and a gps receiver for navigation. You could try using the free trial of Cacheberry to find a few caches, while you decide whether to buy a dedicated gps receiver. Here's their forum thread on how the compass works. I haven't tried it. http://w...

According to my ex-Telstra son, there aren't any 2G plans anymore. Either way, you can choose to use the 2G or 3G networks through the phone. He uses 2G unless there's no signal as it conserves battery life. He said that all of the sites he uses are mobile-specific so it's not that much slower. Howe...

If no one else answers this one, my son said he'd check it out and get back to me in an hour or so. He's been in telecommunications for a few years. Did find this: http://forums.whirlpool.net.au/forum-replies-archive.cfm/1230501.html Whatever you do, get some data included. My daughter's got a month...

There are apps for geocaching and at a recent event I spoke to one cacher, Jaffnut, who sometimes uses her iPhone for caching. There have been a few podcasts about caching with iPhones - you'll find plenty with a quick search. My daughter has the 16gb 3G and is much happier now the software's been u...

New Zealand - anyone going there soon?
I've picked up a geocoin, the very cool Nord-Grrr Camel TB24RJ7, that needs to go to New Zealand. The coin's stated goal is: "The "Camel" wants to travel to New Zealand, South Island, and visit Queenstown." If someone's prepared to take it over, I can put it in a convenient cache in metro Melbourne ...
