Re: The longest GCA power trail in Australia (idea)

Just another thought. This cache page explains it and the map is rather impressive. http://www.geocaching.com/seek/cache_details.aspx?wp=GC2TFGR Hmm... A giant sketch of caughtatwork's mug across the desert? (Assuming he's our equivalent of Signal) Yowzer... Either that or a giant gnome. I would lo...

Doublethink means the power of holding two contradictory logs in one's mind simultaneously, and accepting both of them.

Re: Maps - What do you want?

Well, that sucks. The safari browser on Win7 and my iPod do the panning and refreshing. I'm at a loss. I just tried my iBook and the new caches load but I get a message < Slow script. A script on page "Geocaching Australia" (http://...) is making Safari unresponsive. Do you want to continue running...

Re: Maps - What do you want?

It depends on how far you move the map. Short distances currently do not refresh as it's likely that the caches on the map matcvh your currenmt zoom level / location/ What happens if you move the map to a greater distance away? Say 50km from your start point. Does it refresh? What browser are you u...

Re: Maps - What do you want?

Visualisation of caches by "location", restricted to 250 caches and the caches update / refresh as you move the map to a new area. Visualisation of an individual cache and surrounding caches, restrcited to 250 caches and the caches update / refresh as you move the map to a new area. The maps are gr...

Re: Emails when your cache is logged

If I had the choice of on or off, I would choose ON.

I go to the trouble of placing a cache, I want to know when I have had a cache found.

Needs Maintenance and possible DNF should be left on even if some one chooses off. How else do you let some one know that their cache is in trouble.

Re: newbie: state of mind or statistical reality?

My favourite type of newbie cacher is the Helicopter cacher. We've all seen them.. they start with this admirable enthusiasm, find a dozen or so caches, start a website, a blog , a caching group, a geo shop, bombard the forums with ideas, waving their arms around in the air like a helicopter...then...
