Re: Logless cache idea

I don't believe you can add a codeword for a multi cache.

You can on the "Enable GeoChecker" but that gives you a code word to reveal final co-ordinates, it doesn't require it for logging a "Found It".

Re: Earth Science Cache

No progress at the moment. Your devs have been busy with Cacheopoly, a mid-year game for 2024 and an end of year game for 2024 as well as some technical debt tidy up and revamping some of our statistics.

This, along with the EcoCaches is on the boards for work when time permits.

Re: Logless cache idea

Multi-caches cannot have a codeword.

Geocacher Geocache - Mandatory
Locationless - Optional
Ephemeral - Mandatory
Augmented Reality - Mandatory
Jigsaw - Mandatory

A multi-cache is designated a physical geocache and must have a container at the end.

Re: Overseas GCA caches et al

We don't think getting every cache in our system is reasonable so we don't allocate endless memory. We let it fail because we can't catch when it runs out of memory. We have a limit on the amount of data we can send out each month as well, so if you were to pull every cache, every day we would reach...

Re: Cacheopoly

Is there still a problem? There are a lot of cachers on '0'. Once joined I thought everyone got the 25 points? When you join you are placed on the "GO" square. You have no points yet, you are just starting. In order to complete a quest (including claiming points for "GO") you must press the "Check ...

Re: Cacheopoly

Thanks for the headsup. My code base is slightly ahead of the GCA code base, so I have used a function that the live site does not have. I have just applied a fix which should address that issue. There was also a small issue with missing decimals from the total score. I have recalculated and updated...

Re: Cacheopoly

As soon as you collect your current quest, you can roll again. Quests must be on caches found on or after your last roll. So if I roll today and land on a quest, I cannot claim a cache that I found and logged yesterday. The cache must have been found / hidden today or later. e.g. I roll and land on ...

Re: Discussion of new LGA zones

We do that on purpose. The offshore islands that are part of the LGA, OSM can include them in the water boundary as a simpler zone or as specific polys with tight fitting lines to each island. We use the simpler zones for performance purposes. i.e. It takes a shorter time to get the data and match w...

Re: Report Site Issues Here

There is no glitch. The CO must be the one who tags the caches. If we allowed anyone to tag geoart caches for this challenge, all I would need to do is tag 2 caches in a series of (say) 20, find the two and make the claim. When it's the CO that makes the tags, the CO would tag them all, forcing the ...
