Re: Munzees!

Managed to get a gold 50 point Munzee yesterday, which was one I'd previously tried to capture twice but poor reception meant it stuffed up and didn't register the capture. The updated app seems a bit more buggy ](*,) The next closest gold one to me is one of my own munzees which I can't get the poi...

Re: All Black Sistema. Does not require painting.

ooooOOOooooo!! Would be painting over that fern though No! The fern is extra cammo! (ish... well, if you're in a ferny forest...) I had a look at these and I don't think they'll be available for purchase in Australia (not surprisingly). Now I need to find a friend who's going to NZ soon and see if ...

Re: A motto to follow when placing caches

Over the last 6 mths or so, I have developed a simple philosophy with respect to my hides... I just try to give people a smile when they get to gz/find the cache. Simple as that! :D I follow a similar philosophy, I want people to either smile, giggle, or say "wow" when they get to either GZ or see ...

Re: Placing GCA Caches - is it worthwhile?

There's a background assumption that caches listed on GCA are somehow intrinsically more worthy, and the only consideration is whether that worthiness is sufficiently offset by the relative obscurity and consequent low find counts. Not everyone agrees with that assumption. If you're placing caches ...

Re: Thumbs down to thumbs down

I'm still very disappointed and, quite frankly disgusted with the actions being taken against the challenge caches on gc.com. I've watched the behaviour unfold on this site and it is like watching a pack rabid dogs, egging each other on to destroy something because they take issue with it. I still d...

This is also an ISOLATED cache: http://coord.info/GCG4W5

At one point it had 3 containers. And some experienced cachers could not find it.
Never assume....

Re: ethos for replacing logbooks, containers?

I wouldn't replace a cache I couldn't find unless I had contacted the owner first to absolutely guarantee the old container was missing. Otherwise, I think its quite presumptuous to do so, remote or not. Not QUITE the same thing, but just this weekend I did some maintenance on one of my own caches t...

Managed to download the episode before heading to work this morning.
Great show as always, lots packed into this one.
Appreciate your opinions on the happenings in the last few days. At least I know I wasn't a lone voice of concern about the behaviour that occurred :-# :-# :-#

Re: QR code dinosaurs for National Science Week

This is definitely worth checking out. We wandered around Adelaide on Sunday afternoon hunting dinosaurs, along with, it seemed, about 100 families doing the same thing. We didn't have much luck, a few bugs in the system it seemed, had to re-start the app a few times, and only found a couple of dino...

Re: Not doing GCA Caches (split from other thread)

I would reflect the previous posters. Where I live there are more than enough GC caches to keep me busy, and to fit 2000 unfound on my GPSr I have to filter down to a 100km radius from home. Adding GCA caches to the unit would reduce it further. I also prefer to use one website to search and downloa...

Re: Google Streetview updated at last!

Wow. The google car even drove down the private road that the townhouses and homettes our place occupies
Certainly was awhile ago though. The rogue palm tree in our front yard is twice the height now. Although it does grow at an amazing rate of knots.
And no, we were not home. Dammit.
