We'll be putting out a few more more caches this weekend to help push the NT towards the highest

Re: Lifespan of GCA Moveables

Quite a topical topic for us today. We had actually lost track of our 2 gnomes and couldn't say where they are at the moment. We were out doing the GC Riesling Trail power trail yesterday when we pulled up on our bikes to one of the caches and saw something colourful next to the pile of rocks that h...

Re: Finding archived caches

They might quite possibly be able to help except that they are private lists that I do not have permission to view

Finding archived caches

Is there a way of generating a list of all caches that have been archived within a set time period, say all SA caches (or ones within a defined area) that have been archived within the last 3 months :-k ? This is really more focused on the geocaching.com site but functionality from this one may help...

Re: Munzees!

As one of our Munzees was the 20,000th one deployed, we tongue in cheek asked for bonus points for it. Not only did they agree, they also made the symbol for that munzee one of our choice. So if you are wondering what the TiedyeSmiley face is doing on your map along the Torrens River bike trail in N...

Re: Munzees!

We have done countless caches in cemeteries. It could take a while finding a QR code in the upcoming trend of placing codes on tombstones for a living memorial :P

Re: Extreme Geocaching

I guess it's up to the hider to decide. Finders will then pooh-pooh the difficulty and/or the terrain. But NOT if they are keen to have a 5/5 find under their belts! We had this experience, did a 5/5 cache which was a fun cache but the terrain definitely wasn't a 5. We mentioned this in our log and...

Re: Tracks, Maps, gpx and kmz

Thanks for that part, I will look into it. I did find a different program that would merge the tracks, but not quite the way I wanted. As there are quite a number of isolated tracks in different locations, instead of making a single file with individual parts of a track, it joined them all up to mak...

Tracks, Maps, gpx and kmz

I have found a great site that has lots walks people have uploaded their gps tracks on. They are downloadable (which I done) in the form of both .kmz and .gpx. I downloaded a bunch of them and put the .kmz files into a folder in Google Earth so I can see all these tracks. What I would like to do is ...

Re: Big Matt is an idiot - Your help required

There was an episode of NCIS? where they used rice to recover an immersed phone. Looking up on the interweb, there are quite a few sites which go into this procedure of putting the phone into an airtight container with dry rice. See the following a link http://www.wikihow.com/Save-a-Wet-Cell-Phone f...

Do finds in other countries show up in your 'Finds'?

Had a bit of a search through the forums as it has no doubt been answered somewhere but have had no luck finding an answer. Looking at our 'Finds' stats page, I was surprised to see that our Most Consecutive Days without a find was 37. Being somewhat obsessed, since we discovered the wonderful world...

Re: potential cache site occupied

On the way through Swan Hill last year we had one of these experiences, from our log: Well, this cache was certainly a bit of an adventure for us. Arrived late afternoon and went on a cache hunting trip. Mr TiedyeSmileys reached up and groped around a bit but couldn't feel anything, so climbed up a ...

Haven't tried it myself yet, but there is info on getting rid of the Optus Bloat stuff starting from this page on a whirlpool forum:
