The installer does not place any files on your computer until after you click on the last dialog. If at any time before this you abort the install, there are no files to remove.

In my opinion Maccamob has this best take on this.

The crux of the problem is that Groundspeak just won't send you archived caches in any Pocket Query - so GSAK has no way of knowing the cache is archived.

This has been asked of Jeremy, but as yet it just hasn't happened.
