Re: Welcome to the Easter 2012 Oz Mega Event
I would love to attend this event. Not sure if I can talk the better half into it so for now, just put me down for 1 adult. I'm travelling down from Sydney.

Re: Big Matt is an idiot - Your help required
The idea to dip the device into fresh water was to try to negate the effects of the salt water as soon as possible. As my camera was basically cactus anyway whatever I did was going to be a bonus. As I had a bucket and a tap nearby, that's what I used. As I said, the camera lasted another two years ...

Re: Big Matt is an idiot - Your help required
Hi Matt, I onced dropped a digital camera in a salt water lake. I thought all was stuffed until I spoke to a person who gave me the following advice. They had dropped a phone into salt water and managed to get it to work again. 1. Remove battery and sim card. Leave battery cover off. 2. Immerse phon...

Re: DNFs Logged vs. Actual DNFs
I would think that a number of cachers would see a DNF as admitting failure. Human beings generally don't like to fail at something they are trying to achieve. Hence, they don't like to advertise their failure through a DNF log. As for me, I complete a log entry on every cache I visit regardless of ...

Re: Launching Australia's "OZ MEGA ADVENTURE"
I would love to travel to both the Australian and New Zealand events so hopefully the two committees can sort this out. As for the Oz one, put me down for 2 adults. I'll be coming from Sydney.
The concept of the event sounds a hoot..... can't wait.

Re: I'd love to hold one
Hi WandW, Funny you should say that..... We're thinking of passing through Echuca in January. We would like to go for a ride on a paddle steamer and thought we'd pass that way on our travels to Melbourne for the Australian Open tennis. But I am hoping to have a 62s up and running by then. Hmmmm...mi...

I'd love to hold one
I'm wanting to buy a Garmin GPSMAP 62s. I've done my research and feel this unit will suit my needs. Before I venture to the shop to purchase, I'd like to actually hold one in my hand and have a fiddle with it and talk to the owner about their experiences with the unit. I'm also hoping there will be...

Re: Rewards Items for FTF
Thanks everyone for your advice. I like the idea of a scratchy lottery ticket. Then again..... maybe a $10 Bunnings gift card ....... then you are sure to win a prize!!!

Rewards Items for FTF
G'day fellow cachers,
I'm putting together "treasure" into a cache for my first hide and I am after suggestions as to items that may be found in a new cache as a reward for the FTF person. Any responses would be greatly appreciated.
Cheers,
Calypso62
