We worked out that The Shopper's Relief was knocking over both our Garmins, so we had to go out and do it to get it off the list.
This cache didn't go via GCA to our units. It was PQ->GSAK->GPS.
I'm only psting this because it is also a GMJ one.

Re: Garmin Adds Multicache Support in Latest Beta
Hi Ian,
Topo Australia v2 is from Garmin. It has the 10m elevation data that allows you to do the 3d thing.
OzTopo is another company.

A short log isn't always disrespectful. We left two words for Port of call, one of our favourites.

Re: Love and Hate
While I mostly agree with the love & hates list, I try to accept what I find and not get too annoyed by a bad experience. It is just a game after all. Too much is creeping into it.

Re: DNF on muggled caches
I have attempted and not found a cache 4 times in a row, but came back on the fifth time and found it. This was over 4 days or so and I reckon not looging a DNF in this case is fair - I just spent 4 days looking for it

Re: DNF on muggled caches
I'd leave it as a DNF. I like look at an offline cache to see the history that led to its status... E.g. DNF, DNF, DNF, Offline, Archived, or DNF, DNF, Offline, Online. It's a bit like Schrödinger's cat ... While you were searching for it the cache was in a superposition of muggled and not muggled. ...

Re: Maps for Europe, North America, China for Garmin Nuvi 310?
I reckon having a geocacher on board for such a trip would be a hoot! "Hold it, there is a cache here in 200m!" or "Can we just take this little detour? It'll only mean an extra 2.5km."

You won't get better co-ordinates than those - they are category 1.

Re: Digit slip
Our "It's Over On..." was goofed up to start with. Not only did you need to spend 40 minutes slogging up the mountain, when you got there it looked like you needed to abseil halfway down a slippery slope. Fortunately the clue mentioned the survey mark... Somehow had ADG66 on WP1 and WGS84 on WP2... ...

Re: 917 Finds... In 24 hours. What the?!
Yep... It's up to the individual. If someone lays out a power trail here, there will be a whole swag of cachers going for all sorts of records. FTF, fastest, do them all at night... you name it, someone will make a game out of it. Let's face it, the GC community is made up of a group of innovators. ...

Re: Beat speeding fines with GPS
This tolerance discussion is interesting. Three of our present and past Toyotas (Toyotae?) register within about 1 km/h at 100 km/h on both Garmin and TomTom. So that's the needle just on the higher edge of the mark on the dial.

Last time I got a fine, I thought "can't remember going down that road", so checked my GPS tracks, and Yes I did go down that road AND I was speeding!

Re: Recovering a lost GPSr
I bought one of those etchers that's a bit like a dentist's drill for one of my caches. First thing I did with it was to etch my mobi number onto my GPSr.
