I went and picked up a Foretrex 101 today off our local man here in Adelaide. Could have got one off ebay but seeing as Alex supports the local geocachers decided to go local. Only had a quick play so far and have uploaded waypoints to it, navigation seems easy and very similar to the eTrex I am use...

Like others I use it mainly to work out how to get to a cache. Ozi on the laptop connected to the eTrex for moving map as well when out 4WDing. It doesn't usually tell you exactly where a cache is, though for some urban ones would get you to the obvious spot. As an example last year work sent me to ...

One thing I have noticed is that GSAK expects Ozi to be in c:oziexplorer. To maintain some semblance of Windows standards I have stuck it under Program Files. Is there a way to tell GSAK the path to Ozi to fire it up? Can't see it in the configuration anywhere. And it doesn't seem to remember it whe...

Done some more checking, looks like it doesn't ship with the PC interface cable at least according to the Garmin website (do a search on Foretrex). The accessory cable is different from the etrex as well http://shop.garmin.com/accessory.jsp?sk ... 10484%2D00

Hmmm, that looks nice. Though might not wedge on the dash really well when driving to a cache. One less thing to carry when hiking up that mountain looking for the thing though. Have a look at forums.groundspeak.com and do a search on Foretrex, seems to have similar firmware to the Geko and mostly p...

Will do so just to see what happens. But I hadn't logged into that page for a while (well it has taken a few weeks at least to go from 200 to 250) so I would be surprised if it was cached. Unless it was happening upstream and another internode/agile customer was using the page. But would be unusual ...

Hmmm, it worked from home fine. I had tried the Shift-Refresh at work without luck. We have a firewall there between us and Internode but it doesn't do any caching. So unless they are which would be a bit strange. Oh well, will just have to do it from home in the future. Might start to slow up a bit...

Hello. Tried both IE with Google toolbar and Netscape without. Netscape gives me a more helpful error msg: Not Found The requested URL /~johnb/test/finds.html was not found on this server. Seeing stars
I notice the Update your stars link is broken. The first click brings up all the stars and what they mean, but the next update your stars goes to a page not found. Been the same all day.
