Re: Where should the pen / pencil be placed??

I leave mine in generally...but it is completely based on the size of the bag. The reason pens and pencils puncture holes in the bag is because the bag is a) too small and the writing implement is pressed up against the bag, or b) the size of the cache is too small for the pen or pencil, and is squa...

Location - The trail need to be interesting.
Variation - Mix up the hides and/or containers

Re: Australian Power Trails

Having done the Albany 100 in WA (now archived), ACT, SA, and a few other minor ones across Australia, I can safely say I enjoyed the Wandering Heroes series in SA far more than any other, simply because it seemed to have a better purpose and more thought put into (no offense to the others). It's ba...

Re: A new 24 hour Australian record????

I just noticed this while checking for caches for my 3 hour layover in Melbourne. Maybe it wont last so long... And with the Wandering Heroes powertrail in SA becoming increasingly longer (which I might add was brilliant and probably the best powertrail in Oz at the moment), it won't be long at all...

Well done W. VERY well done. How many DNF's in that too?

At this stage it looks to be around 18 or so...keep in mind I was very selective with some caches...bypassing any I thought might take too long to find.

Re: A motto to follow when placing caches

I voted 'No'...The motto 'if you like' that I keep in mind when placing a cache is 'Every cache should have at least one thing going for it'....whether it be; the view, the walk, the location, the cache itself (as in unique...clever...etc), the puzzle, history learned....anything. When I place a cac...

Re: Help, ideas to get a new cache published.

G'day Bundy, I love the idea, and was ready to offer advice on how to get it published in your present idea, but after seeing the pictures of the rock wall (which the publishers usually don't have the luxury of having) and given the method of the search, I have this feeling that the wall will suffer...

Re: Thumbs down to thumbs down

Just received this message this morning from Groundspeak... We are working on splitting out cache finds and challenge completion counts. Both will be displayed on the logs unless you have not found a Challenge. In that case the statistics for Challenges won’t be shown. This should be done by the end...

Re: Geocaching without a GPS, is it possible?

I found my first 4-5 caches without a GPS, due mostly to the description of the cache on the cache page being so detailed...and of course using the hint!
