Re: EPIRB/PLB
Hey there Jeremy, Have you considered an alternative 0 the personal locator beacon. To give you an idea about their functions see one example: http://www.e-worldshopping.com/Products_Detail.php?ProductID=1312 It is cheaper, has a few more functions and has an annual subscription service. Cheers! Ro...

EPIRB/PLB
Been thinking about picking up one of these so I can do some more solo bush caching. It is often difficult to find someone to cache with and while I can hire one for $35/weekend locally I think having my own one will be more convenient. From me research it appear that the [urlhttp://www.kti.com.au/m...

OK I'm in, I've just hidden two Caches, trouble is one has come up with the bold Green writing as expected, which is Good. the other however did not have the bold Green writing but instead has moron writing, I have got it so it won't be published until 18/05/10 so I am not sure why the moron writin...

Re: Number of different cache types in a day
was this a specific attempt at a record? or did it just happen that you got all these types anyway? Well the first four just happened. We planned to do the traditional, multi and puzzle and then had some spare time and an Oregon so we did the WhereIGo, then I decided to work out what else I could d...

Number of different cache types in a day
Hello everybody! I know this was covered in a recent episode of Geotalk, but what is your maximum number of different cache type in a day? I had a good one today with seven different GC cache types and 8 if you count a GCA trig. Throw in a FTF and all-in-all it was a good day for me. I got: 2 tradit...

Fastest 100 finds
Hi,
Norkmeister with another bitch session about the website for C@W. According to my FindStatsGen stats my fastest 100 finds is 27 days (ending on 7/2/10), but the GCA cacher stats report for fastest 100 finds says my best is 88. Do these get generated monthly or something?
Cheers,
Jeremy.

Re: Draw a circular path around a WP
Well in the instance that I did it was that a cache that shall remain nameless said that it was a certain distance from a bunch of other caches. The intersection of these circles is where the cache was.

I'll fix it up into a wsf file with some parameter handling on the command line and upload it.

Draw a circular path around a WP
Hi, Ever wanted to project a circle around a WP in Google Earth and been frustrated by your inability to do so? Well have I go the solution for you. The jscript below will, given starting co-ordinates and the required distance (in metres), spit out a gpx file that has a track described by a bunch of...

Finds in SA
Okay C@W, as requested I am bitching here
I was looking at my stats for finds from me cacher pages and it says I have 3 finds in SA, but the closest I have cached to SA has been Gippsland VIC. Is this because movable caches I have found are now in SA?
Cheers,
Jeremy.

Brute forcing caches with checksums and approximate distance
I've just been having some fun trying to "solve" a puzzle that gives the clue, the checksums and the distance from the start coordinates. Surely there couldn't be too many that match could there? Well yes. With pairs of coordinates that match the checksum and are plus/minus 10 metres of the distance...

Is my Garmin eTrex-H really waterproof?
With the warmer months upon us there are a few caches accessible by boat or swim nearby to me. The temptation is to rely on my eTrex really being waterproof like they say an putting the lanyard around my neck and swimming out, but I'd hate to be wrong about it. Has anyone actually dunked their eTrex...
