I've used fluorescent wipper snipper wire to mark out controls for rogains, that would be reasonably tree friendly, have a decent life span, and i placed a little obscurely probably wouldn't be stolen

What about being able to work out the location of a difficult puzzle (4 stars), by looking at someone's picture of them finding the cache, and knowing down to about 10 (horizontal) metres where the cache must be
