Re: Stopping GCA Alerts

It will be interesting to see what C@W's logging shows up. I, too, have had multiple alerts for the same new locationless caches over recent months -all from the same CO. Is it possible the CO is publishing it more than once, or there's a problem with their device (I know the CO uses and ipad)??

Re: Reverse Geocache Idea

General concept is good -something new but not too complex. First option, as No_Tomorrow said, may result in broken boxes. Second option with the alternative of the third option are better choices. There are a number of caches on that other server that are based around using alternative technology t...

I also tried to claim #7 early(ish) yesterday but the link led to an essentially empty page and the earlier claims had disappeared too.

Re: Report Site Issues Here

Our email has no hyperlinks. They are simply text which your email handler changes into hyperlinks when it makes the decision to. I'm guessing that your email handler has decided "too many links" or something, so stopped converting them. Thanks. I suspected as much and glad it's confirmed. Looks li...

Re: Report Site Issues Here

This morning's Daily Email includes a large number of new caches in the Mildura area. Part way through the list the hyperlinks to GCA and "other site" for all remaining caches in the email have ceased being hyperlinks and have reverted to simple text. (Not that I really care about checking out a few...

Re: Locationless in April 2020

Hi Chasburgs, Locationless caches give you an option other than getting out looking for physical caches. A locationless cache usually requires you to solve a (jigsaw) puzzle or take a photo or perform some other activity then log it as a find. You can find a list of locationless caches by doing a se...

Re: Toolbox suggestions

...if you have a compelling point... No compelling reason. (Well, not enough to make it worth the coding work.) Just working on something and thought 1m would help eliminate potential geotrails. I can work another way around it easily enough. Over shorter distances (such as what I was planning) any...

Re: Toolbox suggestions

Sure. Done. Luv ya work. Thanks. Any chance of an extra decimal place in the distance ie. 1m accuracy rather than the current 10m? Yeah, I know we don't need 1m to find a cache (sadly, some cachers expect a neon sign and 10cm accuracy ](*,) ), but the result could go toward a complex solution where...

Re: Toolbox suggestions

Toolbox/Distance and Direction between two points...

Would it be possible to change the output result from a simple "n.nn metres, xx" (ie 100.02m NE) to something like "n.nnn metres, xxx degrees" (ie 100.025m 143deg)?

Daily email error

Well, the big event for that other mob :-" has just finished and a number of new caches were published for it and they appeared in my daily email today. When I click on the GC link for a number of them they actually link to caches published overseas. It appears the "s" in the GC code is being interp...

Re: Finding Own Caches

I have and will continue to log my own moveables and locationless caches if I happen upon them out in the wild. I also log my own events. I do not log my other cache types.
I fail to see the reason behind anyone logging their own trad/multi/unknown caches. But, we all play our own way.

I answered all questions correctly but the scoreboard showed 9 correct out of 10.
Q9 was scored as incorrect.

Re: Maintaining a Moveable long after the owner has moved on

Missing? It's not missing, just trapped within the space-time continuum.
It's an iconic cache with a very long history. Resurrect it and let it continue to live, much like the Doctor regenerating.
