Re: Not doing GCA Caches (split from other thread)

For a long time I've loaded GCA and GC caches into GSAK, and then into the GPS. I'm just as happy to chase GCA caches as GC ones. In fact, where there's a choice, I'd choose the GCA one. I don't think the quality is really any different between GCA and GC. Both have good and ordinary hides. My impre...

Re: Geocaching without a GPS, is it possible?

I answered yes, as you can find geocachers with out a GPS. I think Bob From Elsewhere has found over 1000 caches with out one. However I don't think it'd be easy. No matter how detailed your maps are, it's usually that last 10 meters where you really need a GPS. Maps just don't get you that close. G...

Re: Who can help us with our honeymoon planning?

I think it's disappointing that you would drop the Great Ocean Road. But I agree that Adelaide to Cairns in that time is too much. I'd suggest you consider starting in the van from Sydney. Drop both South Australia and Victoria. That will give you more time to actually enjoy what you've come out to ...

Re: Who can help us with our honeymoon planning?

When you go from the Grampians to Apollo Bay, you'll need to go via Warrnambool to see the 12 Apostles. Your itinerary won't allow any time in the Grampians, but your going to have to accept that if you want to cover the distance. I'd suggest you visit the Cape Otway Light House, and camp at Blanket...

Re: Who can help us with our honeymoon planning?

I would probably go to a wildlife park instead of all the way out to Dubbo Zoo. You can visit any zoo and see lions etc. Wildlife parks will get you closer to Aussie animals. Check out Featherdale Wildlife Park in Sydney for example. Jenny Jo* loves tigers soo much. Therefore we would like to go to...

Re: Who can help us with our honeymoon planning?

As you probably know, the route on the map you show does not include the Grampians National Park, Sovereign Hill (Ballarat), Swan Hill Pioneer Settlement Museum, or the Western Plains Zoo (Dubbo). I'd suggest you add some dates and distances to you itinerary, that'll give you an idea of what's pract...

Re: Who can help us with our honeymoon planning?

Questions: 1) is Australia safe enough to leave your camper behind if you want do visit for example a bigger city or do an excursion? Because our total luggage etc is inside. Yes. Common sense is required. Insurance helps if there is an problem. 2) Are there some parking places which have 24 hours ...

Re: State borders on the plots

If someone can make up the appropriate map, we can use it, but this request may not be able to be fulfilled. Do you want me to do some more work on the overlay I did? I had a bit more of think about how to get them in the right spot, and most state boarders are just straight lines anyway. Do you wa...

Re: new feature request: TomTom POI / per state [Implemented]

I haven't used TomTom for a while now, but I'm sure I had mine set up with multiple POI files. I was using different POI files for different cache types, and I had custom icons loaded so as I could identify each type on the screen. I'm sure I was able to search all the cache files, and find the clos...

Since we're talking about the plots, do you reckon we could zoom in on Victoria a bit more?
