Hear, hear.... but these very long and totally useless cut and paste jobs really are annoying when you're trying to scroll through on a GPSr.

Re: Those Badges and those Darned logs!
There is also qualification for a smiley on Are You Verbose? (GA2628) that might be driving the practice. Given that one qualifies for a GA smiley on that cache for each average word/log length of 60, 80, 100, 120 and so on, there is certainly incentive to do this. We have spoken about this situatio...

Yep, soitanly does .(eg. if you write a note for a cache, does it allow you to drop at travelbug too?)

Re: How long is too long ??
If you have the physical coin in your hot little hands, my suggestion is: 1) grab it from wherever/whoever has it. 2) pass it through the cache you found it in with a "Write note" and "Visited" so that it gets the kms and the record that it was there. 3) drop it into a cache of your pleasing. It is ...

Re: Most DNFs in One Day
How does one 'Like' a post?Theoretically, I now get over 1.7 million DNFs every day. Slightly less if I actually go out caching that day.

Re: Oregon Question
From the Software Updates for the 300 discussion thread on Garmin Oregon Wiki site : ... It isn't a software issue [with the x00 series vs the x50 series], so much as it is a hardware issue. I don't believe the Oregon x00 series has as powerful a CPU as the Oregon x50 series. If correct, that might ...

Re: Trying to find my first ever cache - inner Melbourne in 2005
Good points :D. That being the case then, and assuming that the camera defaults to 01/01/2005, she should be able to figure out when the shot was taken based on the purchase/initial power-up of the camera. Given the small window of opportunity for finding GC1TZV4, that might at least lead to the 'ot...

Re: Trying to find my first ever cache - inner Melbourne in 2005
Well, well, I just checked the 'info' on the photo of the guy holding the cache container and it lists "Date/Time: 2005:02:08 03:53:43"! That being the case, Maggies_lens did not find GC1TZV4 (kg84 only started caching in April '09 and I really don't think he would have put a cache out in '05 in ant...

Re: Trying to find my first ever cache - inner Melbourne in 2005
Timing, or rather 'time', is a big issue here. GC1TZV4 only survived for a short period between being published and the first of the DNFs - less than one month in fact :o. That gave Maggies-lens a very small window of opportunity to have found it. Not impossible I know but ... On the other hand, Sam...

Re: Spam ... or an Oz cacher in distress?
Yep, it's a Yahoo address (as is mine). I don't want to reply to it though. Should I do a cut-&-paste of it and contact her through her GC account?

Spam ... or an Oz cacher in distress?
Did anyone else get this particular e-mail?: ___________________________________________ I really hope you get this fast. I could not inform anyone about my trip, because it was impromptu. I had to be in Spain for a program. The program was successful, but my journey has turned sour. I misplaced my ...

Re: Oregon 450t - loading GPX files
Try this link to see if it answers your questions. That link applies to the x00 series but I think it's the same for the x50 series anyway. (Simply navigate that Wiki site to get to the version you need.) By my understanding, the unit and the micro SD card are simply seen as other directories (e.g. ...

Re: Oregon 450t - loading GPX files
Hmmm, I might try a few of those. As the only person in the world who doesn't use GSAK though , I just dump my Friday night PQ of the 1000 closest active caches to home that I haven't done from GC into the /Garmin/GPX directory via a 'holding' directory. There are about 5 logs on each cache I ...
