My weekly Moveables Query
Updating GSAK last night I was presented with 9 moveables for deletion. Checked one & it was active so checked the rest & all active. I hadn't made any changes to my Moveables Oz Wide Query. I had noticed the daily GCA emails had recently shown a location of Unknown so did a search of the locality o...

Re: Locationless Caches
I still check for new ones a couple of times a week. They are by far my largest number of finds. I check out the new ones, decide if I'm interested, whether they're attainable & either ignore them or hope that I can remember them. I decided a while ago only to record one find then move the Loc to my...

Re: Is it kosher???
I have seen some evidence recently of caches which look to have been logged on dates other than the date on which they were found. I didn't think too much about it at the time, but checking my dragonZone trophies recently, the thought occurred to me that maybe the late logs are being used to claim ...

Re: New phones to have 30cm GPS accuracy in 2018
How will it be when phones have better accuracy than a dedicated GPS? I'm not sure but I think we're there already. In the consumer environment: The only thing left is battery life. For the rest phones do everything better. Edwin Or a signal. I've seen caches where the CO advises there is no mobile...

Re: Vantage Point not communicating with Geocaching.com
I've got VP on Win 7 & get the same errors. My 710's usb connection broke awhile back so it's retired, sadly as Garmin can't hold a candle to it.

Re: DNF Etiquette
Prior to looking for Locationless caches I was the 4th best in NSW & the 11th best in Australia for not finding GC & GCA caches. Still doing pretty well on GCA. Perhaps there could be some bling in reverse.

Re: Equity Concerns in the States Of the Nation Game
Very quite out there! Inadvertently is the word. Consequences not evident at the time I'd say. Bonus should be withdrawn retrospectively though to make it a level playing field for everyone.

Kulwin has a beautiful old trig in the background which my link, if I knew how to add it properly, takes you to.

Re: A CORS for the tragics - Kulwin
They're Trigs. They're modern replacements for those old beacons on the tops of hills. When I add a new CORS I also add tags "cors" so you could run a Query with the tag of cors & you'd get 217 CORS. There have been 7 added in Tasmania but mostly NSW. I've added a few as have others. As I recall the...

A CORS for the tragics - Kulwin
Adding a few new CORS when I saw this one:
http://spatialservices.finance.nsw.gov. ... lt_page=94
Appears to be on PP so let it go.
(Edit) Well that URL link didn't work so just add the inbetween!

Re: Phones & GPS
I still use a GPSr, Garmin now as I broke my Magellan 710. Occasionally I use the phone to enter a find. I do Waymarking more than Geocaching now-a-days & a phone would be of no use anyway.

Re: Online Record Attempt Here - 27 Sep 2017
Had an atomic clock running as time on lappy incorrect by about 32 seconds. I'm here for the duration, albeit a bit early. Doesn't show I'm on-line but am.

Re: Cache update emails
I like the idea of the links. I rip through the upcoming events now as they repeat day after day so being able to ignore the latter & just check new ones would be ideal.
