Re: Testing GPS accuracy
Where's geomatica when you need him? He is/was a surveyor, and would know the answer to this question..

Re: Missing caches in Sydney
We could be seeing a problem here with the new smart phones, which come preloaded with geocaching details. It is so easy for people to add GPSr apps onto their phones today. Whatever it is, it may be a deliberate act of vandalism, or it could be that the person thinks that taking the caches is part ...

Re: RIP Banksia777
I remember a lot of Banksia777's caches, always great hides, and true bush ones at that.
Do they have GPS and caching in the afterlife? If so I will be looking forward to some great Banksia777 hides when I get there, farewell.

Re: The other kind of 'find'.
I found $25 at a carpark cache once, I assumed it was a 16th to find prize!
Regarding the 'hikers' who found some human bones at Londonderry NSW, the nearest GCA cache is 1.5km away, and GC 2km. I know this because we (SES) were requested to help with an evidence search there.

Re: Voting at GC Forum -- Counting Challenges as Finds
I read GC forums on a regular basis, and I do comment sometimes, in fact I have commented on challenges in one thread. I will have a look at the voting on challenge counts.

Re: PAFing etiquette
I have seven PAFs on my phone list, I only ring one of them if I have really given GZ a good search and come up empty handed. I also try to spread the calls around, I don't want to make a nuisance of myself!

Re: Seems to be getting common over here! Geo-Bomb Scare :(
So yesterday I head out to one of my bushland caches (Koala Kapers) to do some maintenance, on the way down I notice some cops and their vehicles parked off the access road, but I don't think too much of it. As I approached the cache, a 100mm camoed PVC pipe hung in a tree, a cop calls out that I am...

Re: Magnets strong enough for caching
I'm a big fan of rare earth magnets, I got 40 disc type ones (25mm x 2mm) from Aussie Magnets for $40. I thinks magnets work better in the long term if you put them inside the container, if you put them on the outside the glue/tape will eventually fail with constant removal of the container. If they...

Re: The other kind of 'find'.
Happy Chappies, maybe someone left it there to go on a hike?, came back and....could you have left a note to say you had taken it to the police? I remember running a bike ride from Brisbane to Sydney, I used to use one of the riders fancy bike carry bags set on a road side post, etc to denote a plac...

Re: FTF acknowledgements in listings
Happy Chappies, what a ripper suggestion, and to think that all this time, and with over 1200 GC finds I never knew I could remove those things! My printer and the forests thank you..
