I have no trouble accessing my gps. It is set to garmin mode. Make sure you have the correct port selected under the setup, config,device&transfer. It should be /dev/ttyS0 or /dev/ttyS1 if its a serial connection.

I found and installed it. It Works! :D The package installer gives me a "dependancy not satisfiable: libc6" error so I presume that means those extras are not already installed. You need all 3 dependencies to get Qlandkarte to work. Check Synaptic, I think they should be there. Search for the names...
