Re: Bingo - The moving cache race for 2012/2013
Since it is only the moved logs which count with bingo cards, does there have to be a found log preceding it? I don't want to find my own caches, but if I need one of my own cache numbers for bingo, I was wondering if a noted log to say that I had taken the cache followed by a moved log would work....

Re: Bingo - The moving cache race for 2012/2013
Numbers 49,50,51 are now filled - I got lucky and discovered tonight that the new cache I made was only a couple off the range so made a couple of (future) caches so I could use these for my last few racers and fill in the big gap on the Bingo list :-) Now I think we're only missing #66 (come in #6...

Fairy Nuff! Even though its a bit of a hassle I'm going to continue to attach and make logbooks for the rest of mine - this year at least...

Re: Bingo - The moving cache race for 2012/2013
Ummm we have quite a few caches entered :-$ But have been going on the assumption from last year that they don't need to have logs attached as the move itself is proof of it being found? Is that still correct  We are attaching tags though with their GCA numbers and the GCA website Hmm - every...

Re: Bingo - The moving cache race for 2012/2013
I bought 3 transporters today, which will probably be my contribution to the game given that was the number of bison tubes I had handy for log scrolls. Now just to print the scrolls and find somewhere to hide them. Despite some people's aversion to micros [-X they sure make useful race cache log ho...

Re: Bingo - The moving cache race for 2012/2013
These are definitely the last of my racers - I have to find too many hiding spots for them all... :-$ Somehow strike-a-light and myself managed to find 14 hiding spots :D As long as they all get moved about on the first day, we can then go chasing our own caches =D> These last three make ...

Re: how to bulk update movables? or user-defined PQ
A simple DIY method I use after doing my PQ updates is to click on the "Last GPX" column heading to sort by that date. Anything that's not the current date is (always?) moved/disabled/archived as a quick double-click and link click will confirm so can be quickly deleted (or in the case of those with...

Re: Bingo - The moving cache race for 2012/2013
I noticed some discussion a while back about including "Bingo" in the name of the cache. Is this likely to be general practice? Seems we'll have a lot of "Bingo Car" caches. :D I'm working through the naming process for our caches and including "Bingo" seems to cramp creativity. Is there anything t...

Absolute honesty. Even caught on camera. Doh! http://www.caughtatwork.com.au/caughtatwork.avi (1.6MB avi file) Oh that's a classic! =D> ...and something I hope not to happen to me  I had a "close call" doing Prahran Parks (GC3BZK4) when a car drove into the park and shone it's headlights my w...

Re: Claiming a find but log not signed.
Check the back of the logbook too - have noticed some cachers do this (usually without dating their logs) which is kinda annoying... [-X But at least they have proven their visit. No written log (without a good reason - eg logbook sodden) = fair enough to delete online log - thankfully I haven't had...

Re: Bingo - The moving cache race for 2012/2013
There are a huge number missing from the 40's for some reason. 4740, 4840 and 4940 are all MIA. So are the 41, 42, 43, 49, 50 and 51 numbers for all 3 ranges. Weird. I hope a Bingo player has them reserved but just not yet entered into the game. We're now down to missing 49-51 & 66 :D \:D/ Oh cours...

Re: You know you're a Geocacher when............................
You get excited that the 1st of December is a Saturday, and you can spend the day chasing as many new movable caches as you can.... Until 2 weeks later, you realized that you have a friends wedding on that day (that you RSVP'd to ages ago) DOH! You still can ! I plan on finding and hiding as many a...

Re: Permanent ban on small, high powered magnets in Australia
But what about all those people who use them to hold up their pathtag collections? The way I read it, the ban only covers sale of spherical magnets that are sold specifically as toys, ie: that are supplied as aggregated masses or in multiples of two or more; and that are intended or marketed by the...

Re: Bingo - The moving cache race for 2012/2013
I'm curious about the naming of Bingo race caches. I started naming mine as regular caches (adding Bingo as part of the name or an aside to assist spotting them as racers vs regular GCA caches), then I thought perhaps one should call them by their Bingo call so added that as the primary name. What a...
