Re: Geocache Density Maps for Google Earth

I don't want to complain (what you've done is great  ) but if you really want requests... 1. Squares don't account for the ocean. Possible use something like local council areas or electorates for separation instead. 2. Contoured maps? (is this possible) But I'm just been picky - I think th...

Re: Underwater Cache - Any Ideas?

Rather than using ink/pencil/whatever use a stack of very thin aluminum tags and a hard plastic stylus if you are concerned about water. As for container I have done one. 100mm PVC water pipe with sealed end 2/3rds filled with rock and concrete to make overall buoyancy negative. (Or use lead if you...

Re: Underwater Cache - Any Ideas?

Without having done one, I think a problem with trying to make something watertight is that as it is removed from the water for the swapping/signing process, it will come out wet. Some of this water will invariably get inside the container each time it is found, and things will end up damp. That as...

Underwater Cache - Any Ideas?

I am planning to place a underwater cache this summer Does anyone know what containers work/don't work? I am thinking of using a piece of PVC pipe with a screw lid attached to one end. This is then anchored to the seabed using a old wheel rim. Do PVC screw lids seal well? Any suggestions on what I s...

Archived? - or Not???

Not sure why but my cache "Physics - UCM" (GC285KV) shows up as archived on the GCA site but it isn't on the GC.com site.
Is this just a glitch in the system??

It doesn't really matter - Just noticed this while exploring the site :D

Re: Map of the internet, can you spot the geocache?

I guess the area next to geocaching named "latitude" refers to google latitude not latitude 47 ??? (which is also geocaching)

Re: Most cache dense areas in Ausrtalia?

Had a look at the old data - very interesting! :D (Can't wait for the updated version!) Does anyone know where the data at ( http://www.roblisa.com/geocache ) comes from :?: Not sure how you would do it but is there a way to distinguish between built-up areas and farmland? Thanks for everyone's help...

Re: Anyone caching with a Nokia N900?

My phone is a Nokia 6720 (It may be similer to the N900). I tried caching with it one day - the result is: I will never us it for caching again. The GPS takes ages to get started - if it loses its fix it takes ages to get it again. My phone didn't have a compass & direction screen which didn't help ...

Most cache dense areas in Ausrtalia?

Question: What are the most cache dense rural areas in Australia :?: (And the most dense urban areas as well) I am from Yorke Peninsula and now that I have been caching for a while I am starting to think YP might be pretty high on the list. When I first started I just thourgh there were this may cac...
