Are mass moveables fundamentally broken?
I find myself at a GCA crossroads. I like the site for the extra (actual) caches, the forum, and the various stats views. The advent of mass moveables every December, however, is close to driving me away from the site for the following reasons: 1. The cache list is swamped with moveables. 2. The cac...

Cool, thanks KoT.Keeper of Time wrote:Hi RebornCyclist
It's under My > Settings, then click on "Set you cache alerts".
I hope that helps.

Re: Notifications
I should know this, but how do I set up notifications for GCA? I didn't know you could, so I've been relying on the daily emails.

Re: Update of GC logs to GCA
For the "newbies" wondering how to do it:
1. Get a GPX file, either from a Pocket Query (like My Finds) or from the GPX button on the cache page (need to be a Premium member)
2. Go to http://geocaching.com.au/my/import/ and press the buttons.
Works a treat!

Re: Update of GC logs to GCA
I've taken to importing my own, mostly so I can see my hitlist, density, etc in an up to date way.
I usually do it cache by cache, but I'll occasionally dump in my My Finds pocket query.

Re: Well this is getting trickier...
When I posted the original topic, I had 36 unfound non-moveable caches inside 30km
Since then, I've found 124 inside 30km, and I still have 31 to go - it's like playing Whack-A-Mole!

Hit list improvement?
I like looking at the Cache Density and Cache Hitlist views, but I find with both that the frogs and gnomes really clutter it up - even when they're not there. For example: inside 20km, the reports show I have 34 unfound caches. Of these: 13 are traditionals, multis or trigpoints. 1 is an event that...

Re: Well this is getting trickier...
Since posting this 5 months ago, I have found 83 caches inside 30km of home (including 4 of the ones on islands), and the number of unfound caches has GONE UP from 35 to 36!

Re: "Boy Look"
I finally found the nemesis cache that I mentioned earlier in the thread, and interestingly, the problem was that I had been thinking too much about what a good or tricky hiding place would be, and narrowing my search down to those.

Inside 30km from home, I have 36 unfound GC & GCA caches (not counting moveables), of which 6 are on top of mountains, and 5 are on islands.

Re: 2012 Goals
1. I'm going to try and be consistent about finishing my calendar as well - I have about 90 days left, so roughly 1 in 4. 2. Getting every unknown/mystery cache in Tassie (including GCA) - 6 to go: 1 is a "collect the numbers" from a series 1 is solved, but I DNFed it and it's almost certainly missi...

Re: "Boy Look"
Given that it's my thread, I might take it down this off-topic line. If you look at the logs for that (unfound) Perth cache, there are mentions of cachers undoing nuts and bolts, and then others berating people for doing it, and then the cache owner obviously changed the description to say don't do ...

Have you been spying on me, Dippy?
Although there's one (Between a Rock and...) that I must have clocked up nearly two and a half hours of searching on!

"Boy Look"
Any thoughts on how I can stop my "boy looks"? I had a look today, and I'm up to 112 DNFs and 14.15% DNF/found ration, as well as having 32 caches on my "beaten me" list. What's really strange (and embarassing) is that many of the caches I've failed to find are found by everyone else, and usually lo...

Re: GSAK duplicating GCA logs
I get the same thing from time to time.
I download all the GCA caches a couple of times a week, and maybe once every two months it doubles every log.
