Re: Chaos in your town

It uses the 'latest' Street View imagery so it's only about three years out of date here. The kids wanted to blow up the school but it needs a street number which it doesn't have. Go to google maps for the area and get into street view mode. Wander along the street until you can see the school, and...

GCA has a tent?

It's for loitering within, I presume. \:D/ :stabby

Thank you, very much. I'm here all night. Especially since I have a pile of marking still to do.

Re: 40th parallel

Wikipedia also gives a sort-of explanation: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Prime_Meridian . Basically, meridians are arbitrary (apparently there have been a few different prime meridians at Greenwich). Once you define your 0° one, then all the rest happen as a consequence, and so the coordinates you h...

Re: Report GCA Site issues here

I'll confess: I got caught out. My slight -- but completely inadvertent -- revenge is that as a consequence I sent an email to c@w expressing bepuzzlement and including an image; unfortunately the attached screen dump image was only 300Kb so I hardly put a dent in his inbox. This just adds to the ev...

You get a spam email headed "Administrador del sistema" and immediately start thinking plastic boxes.

Re: Full Logs

I am new to this caching activity, being involved since January, and this is my first post. Lately I have been finding caches with full logs, 3 of the last 15 this week, and more before that. When I get home to log my finds I see that the previous finder has made no mention or maintenance note that...

I think c@w is having a little tease, lemmykc. Of all people, he'd know to look at the lines above and see your perfectly satisfactory average. 8)

Re: Iphone cachers

I don't think anybody thinks anything is necessarily wrong with them. However there are two things that sometimes happen as a consequence of this new wider availability of geocaching tools. The first is that many people who encounter caching through some phone app may not have had an introduction to...

Re: "My Import" page.

Of course I can. Give me your username and password and I'll make sure the next time you logon your numbers will be different to what they are now  And he can even make sure -- as requested -- that you have "more numbers" because -123,567,283.45 involves more digits than 126.77 <maths peda...

Re: Minimalist Cache Logs -- Opinions Wanted

That seems a bit inappropriate on the part of the cache owner. There was certainly nothing offensive about those logs (you can find them here: http://geocaching.com.au/logs/cacher/bikerbuddy ). They were whimsical, thought-provoking (if you were prepared to make the intellectual effort to engage (ah...

Except the other cache (assuming your "other" and my "other" are the same) doesn't fit either, as it was placed early in 2006

Eddies in the space-time continuum.
