This is an ongoing problem. Missing in action Released into Event cache - History, Mystery, High Country by the Biggles Bears but never claimed by whoever took it at the event. http://img.geocaching.com/track/3831b9d2-b479-47cf-b74b-c538602bebb7.jpg This problem occurs for two reasons in my opinion....

Of course isn't geocaching just a CIA front to make otherwise suspiscious dead drops by their agents easy to pass off as the innocent activities of the weekend geocacher? Hypothetically? Hide a bit of data on a couple of tracks of a seemingly blank cd or cheap classical disk, place it in a cache, lo...

All this talk about new houses and cool gadgets inside them is making me think we need to upgrade ourselves!!! And we only moved into our new place late last year!!!! Oh well, off to the newsagent for a Tatts ticket and then back to work to earn some double time  Don't mention double time - a...

Need a really water tight container.
I have a cache in a hole under a lid in a fixed structure that is constantly getting water in it. I've tried several containers but no joy. I'm limited by the size of the hole and the council wouldn't take kindly to me modifying it. A container would have to be either round or square and about 120-1...

Not to mention this will inevitably limit the number of cache waypoints you can upload to your GPSr, particularly in built up/high density cache areas if the idea gains in popularity. At the moment it's impossible to upload all of the melb metro area as you overflow the GPSr. In a few months to a ye...

Seeing that many cachers these days are "tech" cachers, you'll also need to provide electricity to power and recharge all the laptops, pdas and other assorted items. A secure area that people can set up these items would be good as well. I make sure as a tech cacher I can survive for a month on a r...

Two things SM I'm glad you have the luxury of public holidays. Some of us don't. Everyone always forgets the shiftworkers.... :D My office is open 24/7. I'm not complaining. I love my job. Just miffs me that everyone expects you get the same as them. The second is that if you go with the showgrounds...

Porta loos aren't going to cut it. Can't remember the exact figures but a) they are very expensive and b) you need lots of them to cater for laws. Much better trying to get a hall with toilets, showground, sheep station (with shearers quarters) etc to save having to create infrastructure. The influ...

There is another universal holiday in April - ANZAC Day. In 2007 it falls on a Wednesday. If people could get two days off work we could make it a five day weekend when Mildura is a little quieter, and maybe have the whole thing somewhere like APEX Beach where there is a campground on a huge sandbar...

I reckon we could run a Vic Event in September/November for the purpose of placing caches. I've talked to Embi about it and I reckon we could get a reasonable crew together before it gets too hot. Remembering that it's no small feat - Mildura is about 5 hours from Melbourne/Shepparton so people are ...
