It could well turn up again after they reboot

GSAK Question
I am fairly new to the whole GSAK thing. I've just been clearing up archived caches this morning. One cache in my database no longer appears anywhere: GC3YDHB The Movie Swap Cache It was in the ACT. Would I be correct in assuming that not only has it been archived, but it has also been unpublished? ...

You actually have time to read the cache page?!?!belken wrote:We are just not going to sift through the numbers to work it out by reading exactly the same thing on each cache page.

It hasn't been 'officially' announced yet, you should hear some more soon!steptoe wrote:Well there you go,
Scouts Aust have a geocaching comp running for the first half of 2013,
yet rather than find out on a scout newsletter, I find out here -

Re: Australian Power Trails
Now everyone's entitled to their opinion... Great idea, and likely to attract cachers to the area hunting numbers, as evidenced by those who have been to, or are planning on going to, the Port Macquarie area. I sure wouldn't complain if I woke up to 100 new nearby caches, I've got to drive a LONG w...

Re: Those Badges and those Darned logs!
Can anyone generate (without imploding a computer) a statistic on the average log length on all caches active in Australia? 37 words is the average. So if you're writing more than that, you're waffling and if you're writing less, you're a TFTC low life loser. 37 is the target people. Don't make me ...

Re: Those Badges and those Darned logs!
I too am not a fan of big copy and paste logs. Whilst going through my statistics the other day I discovered that my average log length is 35 words, and the average log length on my hidden caches is 36. So whilst I consider myself to be a 'short' logger, I guess in terms of my caching surrounds I am...

Re: Leaving cash good or bad ??
Someone's log on one of my caches said that they had left $5. I thought that was overly generous of them and so after work I went to check the cache to see if it was true. Indeed it was, and so I collected the $5. I then went through the rest of the cacher's logs to see where else I could collect $5...

Re: Logging Archived Caches
Things like earthcaches and virtuals are harder - the info or item is still present. But you no longer get a reply from the CO if you can claim it. If the CO hasn't logged in for a while then I will just log it, post them a note with the answers and saying I will delete the find if they don't figur...

Re: Logging Archived Caches
Upon further review it appears that Locationless Caches are locked and cannot be logged in anyway. This was probably to force people onto Waymarking. It appears that this happened but a few months before I started caching.
But my question about other cache types is still valid.

Logging Archived Caches
On a number of occasions I have logged an archived cache as found, as I have found the cache and written my name in the log book. Two specific occasions come to mind, once I knew that the cache was archived, but suspected it was still there (http://coord.info/GC2W8H8). On another occasion I was not ...

Re: How to identify a Cacher?......
Just don't say "are you here for the same thing I'm here for?" as that can be misinterpreted. Ha! That would have to be the best story I have ever heard about geocaching - it was from DAK's Emu Mob when he was in San Fransisco. What a laugh (for us - not for him at the time #-o ) I know a certain c...
